  • Publication number: 20230255650
Abstract: A reamer device is used in the preparation of the fibula prior to the placement of an intramedullary nail. The reamer device features one or more indicating grooves on its cutting edges. These grooves can be visualized radiographically during reaming to confirm depth for the placement of syndesmotic implants through the intramedullary nail.

  • Publication number: 20230031799
Abstract: A protective device that protects against nerve compression and injury during medical procedures. The device includes an elongated body having a base, and a retention flap and a closure flap joined to the base. The device further includes a closure operable to join the closure flap to the retention flap. The closure may be provided as adhesive field, magnets, a living hinge, or matable structures, such as teeth/sockets, snaps, etc., or tape, strings, sutures or other external elements may be used for joining the flaps. The body may be pretensioned to remain open, or to urge the body to assume a closed configuration. The body may be formed of foam or other flexible/compressible material so as to readily bend and conform to the body and to act to enclose and organize/confine wires/lines used in a medical procedure, and to act as a cushion between such wires/lines and the body.

  • Publication number: 20220357710
Abstract: A personal injury mitigation device for sensing a fall condition and responsively deploying a protective device in bathrooms or other elevated-risk spatial environments. A fall sensing system of the device includes a sensor and an analysis module that processes a signal from the sensor to determine whether a fall condition exists, and if so, transmits a trigger signal to a deployment system. The deployment system includes a stored energy system and an actuation system operable to release stored energy in response to receipt of the trigger signal. An impact mitigation device receives the released energy from the deployment system, which causes deployment of a protective device (such as an airbag) from a housing in which the protective device is stored in a compact state. In the deployed state, the protective device is operable to protect a person against injury due to impact resulting from a fall.

  • Publication number: 20070233106
Abstract: An improved tibial plateau leveling osteotomy plate is disclosed. The plate is contoured in its proximal head portion to more closely resemble the structure of the tibial bone segment that is cut and rotated during the procedure. The plate also preferably has screw holes in the proximal head portion that are machined through the pre-contoured proximal head portion and are designed to angle the screw in a targeted screw path with respect to the osteotomy.
