  • Patent number: 11972923
Abstract: Methods and systems for creating attachments between a sample manipulator and a sample within a charged particle systems are disclosed herein. Methods include translating a sample manipulator so that it is proximate to a sample, and milling portions of the sample manipulator such that portions are removed. The portion of the sample manipulator proximate to the sample is composed of a high sputter yield material, and the high sputter yield material may be the material milled with the charged particle beam such that it is removed from the sample manipulator. According to the present disclosure, the portions of the sample manipulator are milled such that at least some of the removed high sputter yield material redeposits to form an attachment between the sample manipulator and the sample.

  • Patent number: 11945693
Abstract: A multi-functional clamp for the installation of a wind turbine on an offshore substructure by a crane vessel equipped with a lifting crane, the multi-functional clamp having: a main body configured to selectively clamp and unclamp the lower part of the tower of a wind turbine and is shaped so as to couple with the crane vessel so as to define a given position for the tower with respect to the crane vessel; and a plurality of hooking members extending from the main body and configured to secure and release the free ends of a rigging assembly of the lifting crane to the main body so as to lift the multi-functional clamp by the lifting crane.

  • Patent number: 11925872
Abstract: A video game includes a single player mode where completion of storyline objectives advances the single player storyline. The video game also includes a multiplayer mode where a plurality of players can play on an instance of a multiplayer map. Storyline objectives from the single player mode are selected and made available for completion to players in the multiplayer mode, and the single player storylines can be advanced by players completing respective storyline objectives while playing in the multiplayer mode. Combinations of storyline objectives are selected from pending storyline objectives for players connecting to a multiplayer game for compatibility with multiplayer maps. Constraints can be used to determine compatibility.

  • Publication number: 20220025255
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to photon upconversion nanocapsules for 3D printing and other applications. For example, one aspect is generally related to nanocapsules that contain an upconversion material. Light, such as laser light, focused on a region of liquid containing nanocapsules may be upconverted by the upconversion material to produce wavelengths sufficient to cause polymerization of a polymerizable entity to occur. However, in contrast, although other regions may receive some light, that light may not be of sufficient focus or intensity to be upconverted, and thus, the polymerizable entity in those regions would generally not polymerize. In such a fashion, the extent of polymerization can be controlled, for example, by controlling where light is applied to the liquid. The light could be focused at arbitrary regions within the liquid, thus allowing true 3D-printing to occur.

  • Patent number: 10552998
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a data analysis system configured to implement cross-application coordination between a chart creation tool and a data analysis workspace, in order to create one or more charts from customized sets of data points, synchronize chart manipulations between charts, and drill down into the metadata of data points in the created charts. The user uses the data analysis workspace to select, remove, or cherry-pick data items to be used to create a chart, which may be transmitted from the workspace to the chart creation tool as data points. In addition, the user may select the data points in the chart to retrieve one or more identifiers to be transmitted back to the workspace, where they are used to identify the data items associated with the data points, and retrieve the full metadata of the data items.

  • Publication number: 20160124250
Abstract: Methods and apparatus using generating multiple color images in a single exposure. In one implementation, an imaging apparatus is provided that includes an image sensor array including a plurality of image sensor elements. The imaging apparatus also includes a dispersive element configured to rotate incident linearly polarized radiation by a rotation angle to produce rotated linearly polarized radiation having at least two polarization angles, wherein the rotation angle is determined based, at least in part, on a wavelength of the incident linearly polarized radiation. The imaging apparatus also includes a pixelated polarizing filter configured to receive the rotated linearly polarized radiation from the dispersive element and selectively pass the rotated linearly polarized radiation to the image sensor array, wherein the rotated linearly polarized radiation is selectively passed based on the polarization angle of the rotated linearly polarized radiation.
