Abstract: Methods and systems for remotely accessing user equipment implementing an interactive media guidance application are provided. In particular, a method includes the steps of receiving user equipment identification information and receiving a user request from a user device indicating instructions for the user equipment. The user request is cross-referenced with an action request in a user equipment format selected from a plurality of formats to be compatible with the user equipment. The action request is transmitted for receipt by the user equipment for enabling execution of the indicated instructions.

Abstract: Methods and systems for scheduling media content presentation across multiple devices are disclosed. A media planner application generates media event presentation schedules for one or more users based on user-scheduled media events and automatic media event recommendations. Media events can be scheduled for presentation on multiple user devices, including portable devices. Media event recommendations can be generated based at least in part on user preferences and habits, such as user media preferences, device availability, device usage, device connectivity, and user mood.

Abstract: A media guidance application is provided by which users can view program listings associated with programming that the user may access using other user equipment devices. The media guidance application, implemented on, for example, a remote system, may determine through communications with television equipment whether or not the television equipment is authorized to provide a particular package of television programming to be viewed by the user. For example, an online program guide application may determine whether or not television equipment allows a user to view particular channels and, based on that determination, proceed to determine what packages of programming the user subscribes to. A customized program guide may then be displayed based on what programming the user subscribes to on various systems.

Abstract: Systems and methods for saving information related to selected media content are provided. The user may select a particular media item (e.g., a television program) and view information associated with the selected media. In response to a user request to save or bookmark the information associated with the media for future retrieval, the interactive media guidance application may save the viewed information (e.g., set a flag or setting to prevent the information from being deleted from a source). The user may later view listings of bookmarked information, select a listing, and display again the saved information. In some embodiments, the user may direct the interactive media guidance application to perform an interactive media guidance application operation (e.g., view, record, reminder or purchase) on a program related to the saved information or on a listing of bookmarked information (e.g., move, delete, copy, or set priority).

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for the personalization of an interactive media guidance application based on recording-related actions performed by at least one of a first user equipment device and a second user equipment device in a media network. For example, a central data system is used to receive information from the first user equipment device indicating a first action associated with recording a program. The central data system is also adapted to receive information from the second user equipment device indicating a second action associated with recording a program. Subsequently, the system generates a profile based on the received information from the first and second user equipment devices and personalizes an interactive media guidance application implemented on the first and second user equipment devices based on the generated profile.
