Abstract: A network device provides, to a user device, a user interface to configure preferences for a bandwidth boosting service. The bandwidth boosting service is configured to supplement a subscriber's primary content delivery connection with additional bandwidth from a broadband cellular connection. The network device receives, via the user interface, user configuration preferences for the bandwidth boosting service and provides, to a boosting router at a local subscriber network, configuration settings that are based on the configuration preferences. The network device receives, from the boosting router, a boost request for content delivery to a user device at the local subscriber network and generates, in response to the boost request, a split-path instruction for the content delivery to the local subscriber network via a primary data path and a supplemental data path.

The method comprises examining a disc containing the video to determine whether the disc contains trigger data associated with the video; requesting the trigger data associated with the video from a remote server if the examining determines that the disc does not contain the trigger data associated with the video; downloading the trigger data associated with the video from the remote server using a network connection; and storing the trigger data associated with the video in a memory of the video player, wherein at least one trigger data includes a time indicating when a trigger is to occur during the playing of the video on the disc, the at least one trigger corresponding to the display of a product shown in the video.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for identifying and allocating excess storage capacity on a storage media. Primary content is identified to be stored on the storage medium, whereby secondary content is allocated to be stored in the excess capacity of the storage medium that is not required for the primary content. The secondary content that is allocated to the excess capacity of the storage medium is selected so as to occupy the full storage capacity of the storage medium. The allocated secondary content may comprise advertisements, such that the excess capacity of the storage medium can be sold to advertisers to have their advertisements included as the secondary content stored on the storage medium.

Abstract: A system for dynamically placing textual elements adjacent a video content, based on aspect ratios, includes means for detecting the aspect ratio of the media player content and the aspect ratio of the display device and determining if there are unused positions of the video content when displayed on the display device.
