  • Publication number: 20220020229
Abstract: A mobile tolling application and system for allowing users to pay tolls through the mobile application running on a user mobile device are described. In particular, a mobile application running on a mobile device having a GPS, GLONASS, satellite, or other location receiver receives information regarding the location of the mobile device, compares the location information to known map way points, and sends the location and applicable travel information to a remote server. The remote server forms a route traveled by the vehicle based on received information from the mobile application, retrieves pricing information for tolls on the formed route, and provides calculated tolling information to the mobile application. Users can then select to pay the tolls through the mobile application.

  • Patent number: 10901967
Abstract: Systems and methods for license plate matching. In one example, a system for license plate matching includes an interface configured to receive roadside data, the roadside data including a roadside image of a vehicle license plate, a database having a plurality of indexed entries, each entry including vehicle license plate fingerprint data and vehicle characteristic metadata, and a processor connected to a memory, the interface, and the database, the processor configured to execute a query against the database based on the roadside data, compare a portion of the entries to the roadside data, the processor being further configured to compare the roadside image of the vehicle license plate and the corresponding vehicle license plate fingerprint data when comparing the portion of the entries and roadside data, and generate a confidence based on a similarity between at least one individual entry of the portion of entries and the roadside data.

  • Patent number: 10235332
Abstract: According to at least one aspect, systems and methods for distributed license plate review, at one or more crowd source analysis provider, are provided. In one example, a system for license plate review includes an interface configured to receive at least a roadside image of a vehicle license plate, and at least one processor configured to partition the roadside image of the vehicle license plate into one or more segments, and assign the one or more segments to one or more crowd source analysis provider, the one or more crowd source analysis provider being configured to review and recognize at least one character of the vehicle license plate included within an individual segment of the roadside image. In an example, the crowd source analysis provider may allow a reviewer to interact with the individual segment and recognize the at least one character within that segment.

  • Publication number: 20150228125
Abstract: A system for validating transportation data comprises a server, a mobile device, and a first set of executable instructions on the mobile device configured to provide navigation instructions according to a test route. Expected transportation data readable by the server for the test route is included. A second set of executable instructions are configured to read an actual transportation data collected for the test route and to compare with the expected validation data.

  • Publication number: 20150108211
Abstract: A system for authentication an item comprises a software program executing on a server having one or more sets of instructions executable on a processor of the server. A first set of instructions of the one or more sets of instructions is configured to receive a code scanned from the item. A second set of instructions of the one or more sets of instructions is configured to authenticate the code. A third set of instructions of the one or more sets of instructions configured to transmit a message regarding the authentication of the item, wherein the first set of instructions receives the code as scanned form the item as a pass-through with respect to the mobile device whereby the second set of instructions are further configured to directly authenticate the NFC tag on the server and not on the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 8838362
Abstract: In one aspect, a vehicle monitoring apparatus includes an interface configured to connect to a diagnostic port of a vehicle, a processor coupled to the interface and configured to communicate with the diagnostic port and a sensor coupled to the processor and configured to detect a factor indicating the presence of a driver in the vehicle. The sensor causes the apparatus to transition from a first power mode to a second power mode upon detection of the factor. The apparatus draws more power from the vehicle in the second power mode than in the first power mode. The apparatus also includes a housing that includes the processor and the sensor.
