  • Patent number: 10226985
Abstract: Devices and methods for enhancing heat exchanger airflow in a transport refrigeration system (TRS) of a refrigerated transport unit are provided. In particular, a fairing is provided on a top surface of a TRU to shield the TRU from an adverse effect of wind (e.g., ram air) and build a negative pressure at a heat exchanger fan delivery side of the TRU. The angle, shape and height of the fairing can be optimized to achieve a desired heat exchanger airflow through condenser coil(s), a radiator and/or intercooler of the TRU during operation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 31, 2013
Date of Patent: March 12, 2019
    Assignee: THERMO KING CORPORATION
Inventors: Wilson Samuel Jesudason Lawrence, David John Dykes, Abhijith Balakrishna, Christopher Thomas Arneson

  • Patent number: 8544675
Abstract: A fluid reservoir assembly includes a base assembly defining an interior cavity that is adapted to receive a fluid. A cover assembly is engaged to the base assembly. The cover assembly includes a first end and an oppositely disposed second end. A first plurality of fasteners engages the first end of the cover assembly to the base assembly. The first plurality of fasteners has a first strength. A second plurality of fasteners engages the second end of the cover assembly to the base assembly. The second plurality of fasteners has a second strength. The first strength is less than the second strength.

  • Publication number: 20100228525
Abstract: A data logging system includes a sensor for monitoring a parameter and a data logger. The data logger includes a first logging mode and a second logging mode. The first logging mode has a low-capacity logging mode adapted to collect data from the sensor at time intervals, identify a start of a data cycle when the parameter reaches a first limit, identify a stop of the data cycle when the parameter reaches a second limit, process the data collected between the start and stop of the data cycle, log the data processed, the data processed having less bytes than the data collected between the start and stop of the data cycle. The second logging mode is adapted to collect data from the sensor at time intervals and to log a portion of the data collected after receiving an event code.
