  • Publication number: 20250138189
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining ranges to a target disposed behind a transparent surface are described. A target acquisition system receives a plurality of lidar returns, at least some of which are from a target and at least some of which are from a transparent surface. The lidar returns correspond to a portion of a lidar signal generated by a lidar, directed toward the target, and reflected back to the lidar from either the target or the transparent surface. A range measurement for each of the plurality of lidar returns is determined. The target acquisition system generates a histogram of the range measurements. The histogram includes an array including a plurality of range bins. Each range bin defines a unique portion of a predetermined distance out from the lidar. The histogram further includes a count associated with each respective range bin.

  • Publication number: 20250139100
Abstract: A database system comprising an interface and a processor may perform techniques described in this disclosure. The interface may receive a query for accessing a first dataset and a second dataset, where the query identifies multiple dimensions of the first dataset and the second dataset. The first dataset may include a first dimension, and the second dataset may include a second dimension, but excludes the first dimension. The processor may translate the query into a structured query that conforms to a database query language, where the structured query defines a join between the first dataset and the second dataset over the second dimension. The processor may also transmit the structured query to a database, and receive, responsive to the structured query, an indication that a virtual table was created that combines the first dataset and the second dataset over the second dimension of the second dataset.

  • Patent number: 12281733
Abstract: A sealed joint assembly for transmitting high temperature and high pressure fluid between adjoining ducts in, for example, an aircraft bleed air system, includes a gimbal ring and two annular clevises. Each clevis includes a pair of axially-extending lobes that each includes a bore hole extending therethrough. The bore holes of the clevis lobes may each align with a respective bore hole formed within the gimbal ring, through which a pin may be inserted to couple the clevises to the gimbal ring. The clevises and gimbal ring may be formed using additive manufacturing. The gimbal ring may include a strut or truss network, and may be comprised of an inner gimbal ring and an outer gimbal ring.

  • Patent number: 12278087
Abstract: Methods and systems for creating attachments between a sample manipulator and a sample within a charged particle systems are disclosed herein. Methods include translating a sample manipulator so that it is proximate to a sample, and milling portions of the sample manipulator such that portions are removed. The portion of the sample manipulator proximate to the sample is composed of a high sputter yield material, and the high sputter yield material may be the material milled with the charged particle beam such that it is removed from the sample manipulator. According to the present disclosure, the portions of the sample manipulator are milled such that at least some of the removed high sputter yield material redeposits to form an attachment between the sample manipulator and the sample.

  • Patent number: 12256932
Abstract: Magnetic anastomosis devices constructed from magnetic segments coupled together with members that help the devices spontaneously transform from a linear delivery configuration to a polygonal deployment configuration. When two devices are joined together over tissue(s), the compressive force causes the tissue(s) to necrose and form an anastomosis. By altering the arrangement of the magnetic poles of the magnetic segments in the devices, the magnetic interaction between paired devices can be altered. This property gives surgeons flexibility in choosing how much attractive force the devices will experience during a procedure.

  • Patent number: 12210746
Abstract: A tiered storage arrangement is contemplated that provides high speed tier 1 storage for rapid access to recalled data, mid-speed tier 2 storage for data that is not frequently recalled and tier 3 storage for archive purposes that may include tape library storage and even cold storage in vaults. Embodiments contemplate a server linked to all tiered storage devices on one end and a host computer on another. Data files can be migrated between the tiered storage systems based on migration policies, such as time elapsed from being filed or last accessed. Also, embodiments contemplate a time bar displayed at the host computer that provides accurate time predictions of data recall including information of the kind of storage on which a target file is stored and the pathway to recall the target file/s locally to the host computer.

  • Patent number: 11998207
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for creating an anastomosis or fistula between the gallbladder and an adjacent organ are disclosed. First, a parent magnet, typically a permanent magnet, is deployed in the stomach, small intestine, or another organ adjacent to the gallbladder, and a mating daughter material is deployed in the gallbladder in order to create a magnet-compression anastomosis. The gallbladder may then be ablated or otherwise functionally inactivated through the anastomosis. Another aspect of the invention relates to an all-in-one surgical kit that contains all the necessary specialized tools for a surgeon to perform the procedure.

  • Patent number: 11934278
Abstract: A data storage library is described that protects against a malware attack by providing a scheduled write window of time where archive data can be written to tape cartridges in the tape library on behalf of a client. At times outside of the write window, the tape library is disabled from writing any archive data to any of the tape cartridges in the tape library. Accordingly, the tape library is protected from a malicious entity attempting to download malware to tape cartridges in the tape library outside of the designated write windows. The tape library is configured to provide or otherwise read archived data from a tape cartridge both in the write window and outside of the write window.

  • Patent number: 11916430
Abstract: A disclosed information handling system is coupled to a power adapter that is coupled to an AC line power source. The system includes an embedded controller storing instructions executable to determine that a trigger condition for limiting electrical power drawn by the system from the power adapter is met and, in response to the determination and in accordance with a low power operating mode, to limit electrical power drawn from the power adapter by the system to an amount less than or equal to the lesser of a power rating of the power adapter and a capacity of the AC line power source to supply electrical power. Limiting the electrical power drawn from the power adapter may include limiting the electrical power consumed by operation of the system or limiting a rate at which an internal battery of the system is charged by electrical power supplied by the power adapter.
