In response to determining that the user input the explicit preference for the media asset corresponding to the media asset identifier, the media guidance application may determine display dimensions of the second media asset identifier, select a graphic that corresponds to the display dimensions, and generate for display the selected graphic as a background graphic of the media asset identifier.
