Publication number: 20240152319Abstract: Systems and methods for providing supplemental information with a response to a command are provided herein. In some embodiments, audio data representing a spoken command may be received by a cloud-based information system. A response to the command may be retrieved from a category related to the context of the command. A supplemental information database may also be provided that is pre-populated with supplemental information related to an individual having a registered account on the cloud-based information system. In response to retrieving the response to the command, supplemental information may be selected from the supplemental information database to be appended to the response to the command. A message may then be generated including the response and the supplemental information appended thereto, which in turn may be converted into audio data representing the message, which may be sent to a voice-controlled electronic device of the individual.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 16, 2023Publication date: May 9, 2024Inventors: Srikanth Doss Kadarundalagi Raghuram Doss, Jeffery David Wells, Richard Dault, Benjamin Joseph Tobin, Mark Douglas Elders, Stanislava R. Publication number: 20240134462Abstract: This application is directed to a method for controlling user experience (UX) operations on an electronic device that executes an application. A touchless UX operation associated with the application has an initiation condition including at least detection of a presence and a gesture in a required proximity range with a required confidence level. The electronic device then determines from a first sensor signal the proximity of the presence with respect to the electronic device. In accordance with a determination that the determined proximity is in the required proximity range, the electronic device determines from a second sensor signal a gesture associated with the proximity of the presence and an associated confidence level of the determination of the gesture. In accordance with a determination that the determined gesture and associated confidence level satisfy the initiation condition, the electronic device initializes the touchless UX operation associated with the application.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 2, 2024Publication date: April 25, 2024Applicant: Google LLCInventors: Ashton Udall, Andrew Christopher Felch, James Paul Tobin

Publication number: 20240096461Abstract: An inbound message including medical record content may be received. The inbound message may indicate a healthcare entity and a vendor entity. It may be determined, from the healthcare entity and stored correspondences between medical record formats and healthcare entities, that the medical record content of the inbound message is in a first medical record format. Which configuration record of stored configuration records specifying combinations of sets of rules may be determined to apply as a translation to the inbound message based upon the medical record content of the inbound message and the first medical record format. The sets of rules as indicated by the configuration record may be accessed and applied to the inbound message to translate the medical record content in the inbound message from the first medical record format to the standardized format. The standardized format may be transmitted to the vendor entity.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: James Lloyd, Christopher Tobin-Campbell, Andrew Kitson, Nicholas Hatt, Nijay Patel

Publication number: 20180101646Abstract: An inbound message including medical record content may be received. The inbound message may indicate a healthcare entity and a vendor entity. It may be determined, from the healthcare entity and stored correspondences between medical record formats and healthcare entities stored on a physical storage, that the medical record content of the inbound message is in a first medical record format. Based on the determination that the medical record content of the inbound message is in the first medical record format, a translation may be applied to the inbound message that translates the medical record content in the inbound message from the first medical record format to a standardized format. The standardized format may be transmitted to the vendor entity.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 7, 2016Publication date: April 12, 2018Inventors: James Lloyd, Christopher Tobin-Campbell, Andrew Kitson, Nick Hatt, Nijay Patel

Publication number: 20170236110Abstract: Methods and apparatus for establishing secure communications are disclosed. An identifier is received from a personal object such as a ring. This identifier is received, for example, through a non-contact near field communication. The identifier is recognized and associated to a mobile terminal device of a user, the mobile terminal device being separate from the object. A secure communication channel is established based upon recognition of the identifier of the personal object that is associated with the mobile terminal device.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 4, 2017Publication date: August 17, 2017Inventor: Christopher Tobin

Publication number: 20080103812Abstract: For possible use in an electronic content distribution system, automatic recognition of compact discs or other storage media containing particular content, and corresponding account crediting is described. In an electronic content distribution system, such as those providing music available by digital downloading or streaming technologies, a user may ordinarily pay a full price to receive the music. A user who possesses and apparently owns a compact disc containing particular content can be conveniently offered a discount or credit usable towards the purchase of the analogous particular content in a form provided by the electronic content distribution system. Preferably, compact discs are uniquely identified by determining whether their digital fingerprint matches a known reference fingerprint for a compact disc containing the particular content.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 6, 2007Publication date: May 1, 2008Applicant: Sony CorporationInventors: Christopher Tobin, Adrienne Lalla

Publication number: 20060019741Abstract: An application for accommodating wagering arrangements between users. A set wagering line is presented for an event having first and second opposing outcomes. The set wagering line is generally applicable to wager submissions on the event, whether in support of the first outcome or the second outcome. A wager submission is received from a first user in connection with presented wagering line, for a particular amount in support of the first outcome. It is then determined whether a counterpart wager (a wager on the event for the same amount in support of the second outcome) has already been received or is ultimately received from a second user during an applicability period. A wagering arrangement is accommodated between the first user and the second user when the counterpart wager submission is determined to be present.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 15, 2005Publication date: January 26, 2006Inventor: Christopher Tobin
