Patent number: 11774939Abstract: Methods of managing aggregate inventory. The methods include utilizing a dynamic protocol for an oilfield operation with aggregate from chambers of a multi-silo system wherein each chamber accommodates a single aggregate type throughout operations. However, the chambers also have a dynamic classification as either active, idle or reserved depending on the stage of operations. Once more, even though each silo may accommodate multiple chambers, unique techniques may be utilized to obtain real-time inventory information for each chamber via weight measurement of entire silos.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2020Date of Patent: October 3, 2023Assignee: Schlumberger Technology CorporationInventors: Miguel Angel Lopez, Marcos Suguru Kajita, Bansi Chauhan, Christopher Todd Shen

Publication number: 20230287778Abstract: A technique facilitates mixing of fluids for use in well treatment operations. According to an embodiment, a dry powder material, e.g. a friction reducer, may be thoroughly mixed into fluid or fluids associated with a well treatment operation. The powder material is combined with liquid, e.g. water, via a series of Venturi mixers arranged to thoroughly mix the materials. In some applications, the Venturi mixers are mounted on a modular unit which is readily moved to a desired wellsite. Additional modular units may be added to increase the amount of product being mixed according to the demands of a given well treatment operation, e.g. a hydraulic fracturing operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 28, 2021Publication date: September 14, 2023Inventors: Adam Ethan KEILERS, Christopher Todd SHEN

Patent number: 10589923Abstract: A mobile support structure (MSS) includes a frame structure for receiving modular silos, a base moveable between transportation and support configurations, and connectors coupling with the silos. A mobile erecting assembly includes a chassis, a lift structure rotatable between transportation and mounting orientations while engaged with a silo, an engagement structure movable between first and second positions while engaged with the silo, and an actuator to move the engagement structure and silo between the first and second positions. The silo is connected to the mobile erector assembly in the transportation orientation, and the mobile erector assembly is then aligned relative to the MSS, such as by engaging an alignment member of the mobile erector assembly with a chassis alignment post of the MSS. The mobile erector assembly is then operated to move the silo to the mounting orientation, and the silo is then coupled to the MSS.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2018Date of Patent: March 17, 2020Assignee: Schlumberger Technology CorporationInventors: Hau Nguyen-Phuc Pham, Christopher Todd Shen

Publication number: 20150238914Abstract: A mixing unit comprising a frame, a rheology control portion, and a high-volume solids blending portion. The rheology control portion comprises means for receiving a first material from a first transfer mechanism, a dispersing/mixing system connected with the frame, and a first metering system to meter the first material from the first material receiving means to the dispersing/mixing system. The dispersing/mixing system disperses/mixes the metered first material with a fluid to form a first fluid mixture. The high-volume solids blending portion comprises means for receiving a second material from a second transfer mechanism, a solids blending system connected with the frame, and a second metering system to meter the second material from the second material receiving means to the solids blending system. The solids blending system blends the metered second material with the first fluid mixture to form a second fluid mixture.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 12, 2015Publication date: August 27, 2015Inventors: Rajesh Luharuka, Hau Nguyen-Phuc Pham, William Troy Huey, Nikki Morrison, Christopher Todd Shen, Avinash Ramesh, Garud Bindiganavale Sridhar, Laurent Yves Claude Coquilleau
