  • Patent number: 7363376
Abstract: An apparatus and method for generating an identifier to facilitate delivery of enhanced data services in a wireless computing environment is presented. In accordance with one aspect of the invention, a method is presented comprising receiving a request to establish a communication session between a subscriber unit in a wireless communication system and a data network access server through a basestation, and selectively generating a communication session identifier to uniquely identify the communication session from a plurality of communication sessions supported by the network access server to enable mobility management within the point-to-point communication session between the basestation and the network access server.

  • Patent number: 7339908
Abstract: A system and related methods to facilitate the delivery of enhanced data services in a mobile wireless communications environment is generally described. According to one aspect of the invention, a data networking protocol is introduced generally comprising control commands and attribute-value pairs. The one or more control commands including one or more control commands selectively employed to establish, manage and tear-down a communication session by and between elements of a data network. The one or more attribute-value pair(s) (AVP), selectively employed by a network element to define one or more parameters of an accompanying control command, the AVPs including one or more mobility management AVPs to facilitate exchange of mobility information between at least a subset of the network elements of the data network participating in a point-to-point component of the communication session.

  • Publication number: 20070153010
Abstract: The present invention can reduce interference generated by processors and other computing devices when a connected radio is active. In one embodiment, the invention may include determining a start of reception of radio signals by a radio, generating a radio active signal, transmitting the radio active signal to a coupled computer to affect the radio interference generated by the coupled computer. The embodiment may further include determining an end of reception of radio signals by the radio, generating a radio not active signal, and transmitting the radio not active signal to the coupled computer to affect the radio interference generated by the coupled computer.

  • Publication number: 20070133496
Abstract: A data stream is transmitted between a base station and user terminal. A first resource that is available to transmit a page is selected at the base station and the page transmitted from the base station via the first resource. The page is received at the user terminal via the first resource and a second resource that is available to transmit a page response is selected at the user terminal. A page response is transmitted from the user terminal via the second resource in response to the page. A data stream is then transmitted between the base station and user terminal via a third resource. In one embodiment, the first, second and third resources utilize the same sequence of radio frequency resources that follow a hopping sequence among a set of available radio frequency resources. In one embodiment, at least two of the first, second and third resources utilize the same sequence of radio frequency resources. In yet another embodiment, the resources utilize different sequences of radio frequency resources.

  • Publication number: 20070049299
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention can be used to send apage from a base station to a user terminal using a hardware resource indicated by a hopping sequence. In one embodiment, the invention includes the base station selecting a hardware resource from a plurality of distributed and independent hardware resources, such as DSPs, based on a hopping sequence that indicates a sequence of hardware resources over periods of time. The base station can then transmit a page to a user terminal using the selected hardware resource.
