  • Publication number: 20140109451
Abstract: The present invention involves techniques for rapid, flexible, partial and supplemental reloading of firearms using specialized actions, intermediate storage devices/feeds and multiple magazines, which may, in some embodiments, be simultaneously engaged with a firearm. The techniques disclosed include a feeding system, which may be a multiple-magazine feeding system, that allows a firearm to remain loaded and firing-ready with multiple loaded cartridges at all times, even during reloading operations. The invention also includes other techniques for flexible, non-wasteful, partially-empty reloading, to eliminate reloading paralysis, and allow the soldier or other user, not the size of a magazine, to determine when firing should continue and when and if it should pause.

  • Publication number: 20140053111
Abstract: New techniques improving display output and computer system input response are provided. In aspects of the invention, a system assesses whether input gesture(s) occur within an area of an output matrix describing an element, within a time period following a substantial and/or activity-affecting change in that area, and nullifies or alters an affect(s) of the input gesture(s) that would otherwise occur, and may instead or also create the affect that would occur if the output matrix had not experienced the relevant substantial and/or activity-affecting change, and may also reverse, alter, augment or otherwise address the substantial and/or activity-affecting change in that area of the output matrix to enhance the user experience. In other aspects, an object-based projection method increases efficiency and decreases output matrix judder. In additional aspects, a new form of pixel and array, with variably-angled variably-curved pixel subsections, assists in further smoothing edges between objects.

  • Publication number: 20140045135
Abstract: New chewing-actuated teeth cleaning techniques are provided. In some aspects of the invention, a CleanChew™ is provided, which may comprise bite-actuated tooth- and gum-brushing protrusions and other features, tooth-guiding channels and variable openings with spacers, which openings and spacers may enable the variable bite-actuated release and application of a dentifrice for bite-actuated scrubbing. In further aspects, internal springs and the tension of surrounding material drive bite actuation of protrusions. In other aspects, movable bite-actuated and/or motor-actuated members conform an elastomeric/flexible outer layer with additional sub-features and aid in teeth and oral cleaning In other aspects, intermediate antechambers, and/or interstitial fluid, gel or other medium, aide in enabling re-sealing an inner chamber following penetration of the CleanChew.

  • Publication number: 20130300911
Abstract: New optic control systems are provided that manage camera, user or environmental movement and other factors impacting optical and resulting image quality. In some aspects of the invention, a variably, directionally shadable semi-transparent matrix and actuating system is provided, which limits problematic glare for an observation point. In other aspects of the invention, a matrix creates directional light from a plurality of shiftable and angle-directable sources, which may aid in creating virtual, 3-D objects of greater realism than conventional 3-D imaging methods and aid in reducing the appearance of distracting interceding objects (e.g., finger blocking a touch screen). In still other aspects of the invention, electromagnetically actuated optical control techniques, including rotational lenses and sensors, are provided.

  • Publication number: 20130264084
Abstract: Improved techniques for avoiding and remediating connector-related stripping and other material damage are provided. In some aspects, specialized drive heads and systems are provided in conjunction with sensors for detecting proper distance characteristics and contact orientations (a.k.a., “seating”) with connectors, which, upon sensing improper seating, reduce, reverse-pulse or otherwise alter or remove power. The specialized driver heads may include reverse-grip members that pull the driver-head into the seated position. In other aspects, multiple-section connector sets are included, which may be self-tightening, and create detectable conditions of potential tightening energy being expended and/or loosening occurring, allowing an external sensor to sense such a condition and identify a connector that has loosened, slipped, or may be in need of recharging or tightening. A specialized connector head may selectively break away before stripping and thereby expose a stronger, secondary driver head.

  • Publication number: 20130208867
Abstract: New techniques for radiotherapy and radiosurgery are provided. In one aspect of the invention, multiple sources of radiation are provided in a planned frequency and in the same superposable period and polarization, from the same side of a treatment target, focused on a leading structure in the target. In another aspect, refractive models, updated by live feedback, are used to improve dosage distribution by, among other things, optimizing the number, angle and nature of radiation beams. Interstitial beacons and radiation path diversion structures are inserted to improve dosage distribution to a target and avoid critical neighboring structures. In particle therapy, regionally actuable external magnetic fields are used as well, to improve dosage accuracy and avoid collateral damage.

  • Publication number: 20130156318
Abstract: Techniques for efficiently capturing, generating and distributing realistic images and dynamic reports with live sources are provided. Among other aspects, the system includes a user interface with identifier tags to create and manipulate dynamic and fixed representational image elements to create high resolution, seamless composite images or image streams with low processing and storage requirements, from databases or other sources. The identifier tags may be provided with Relational Aspects, including physical models governing image elements and their 3-D subjects. Image output may be in digital, analog or direct representational formats, and a new format combining features of each. Element Seeding or Borrowing may be implemented to further enhance elements of the image or report composites.

  • Patent number: 8410639
Abstract: Electronic leakage reduction techniques are provided, whereby a device is configured to detect characteristics of an appliance and its power supply when the appliance is off or otherwise placed in a mode for reduced power use by said appliance, and whereby voltage and power provided to the appliance are then substantially reduced. In other aspects of the invention, user behavior may also manually control power delivered to the appliance, for example, with a switch. In still other aspects of the invention, a device is configured to detect characteristics of an appliance and its power supply when the appliance is on or otherwise placed in a mode for higher power use by said appliance, and increases power to the appliance.
