    Abstract: A multi-chamber battery module is equipped with first cell packets and second cell packets. The multi-chamber battery module includes a module housing divided into at least three adjacently arranged regions in a first direction by first separating walls. At least two first or second cell packets are arranged in each region in a second direction arranged perpendicular to the first direction. The regions arranged externally in the first direction include the first cell packets and the at least one region lying between the externally arranged regions includes the second cell packets. The first cell packets include electrical connections, which are arranged on opposite sides of the cell packets. The second cell packets include electrical connections, which are arranged on the same side of the cell packets. Cell packets that are arranged side-by-side across regions are electrically connected to one another in series.

The at least one module degassing opening and the respective cell degassing openings are directly connected to at least one degassing region. The at least one degassing region is delimited from the temperature control fluid. The at least one degassing region is smaller in its surface area extension than the degassing side, such that the temperature control fluid passes between the degassing side and the battery cells.

In proximity to at least one opening, a fold of at least one pouch cell is folded over toward the surface of pouch cell and glued, thereby forming a first flow channel between a stack cooling side and the cooling wall.
