  • Patent number: 11307029
Abstract: A method for analyzing a surface quality of a laminate part including the steps of creating a planned dimensioned representation of a laminate part desired to be built which includes a first surface having a first topography; placing fibers into locations for the laminate part desired to be built; and curing a resin associated with the placed fibers fabricating an as-built laminate part which includes a second surface having a second topography which corresponds to the first surface having the first topography. The method also includes aligning the first surface, the second surface and the locations of the fibers; determining a first elevation of a first point on the first surface and a second elevation of a second point on the second surface; and observing the first surface, the second surface and the locations of the fibers in alignment and the first elevation relative to the second elevation in analyzing the surface quality of the laminate part.

  • Patent number: 10273991
Abstract: A mounting clip may be provided that is configured to be secured to a stiffener and provide attachment of external components to the stiffener. In one example, the mounting clip includes a frame with a base and legs. Opposing engagement members extend from the legs. The opposing engagement members each include a pair of deformable flexures and a pad, which engages a surface of the stiffener. The stiffener may be inserted into a channel defined by engagement members and translated upwards, thus, translating the pads upward and inward. Subsequently, the pads and deformable flexures provide a compressive clamping stress on the stiffener and therefore permanently secure the mounting clip to the stiffener.

  • Patent number: 10156439
Abstract: An inspection system is presented. The inspection system comprises a remotely controllable imaging assembly and a scale reticle. The remotely controllable imaging assembly includes a camera and a lens system. The lens system includes a tunable-focus lens and a magnifying lens between the camera and the tunable-focus lens. The scale reticle is positioned within a sight line of the camera of the imaging assembly such that the scale reticle is between the imaging assembly and a target.

  • Patent number: 7305772
Abstract: A system for monitoring inclination of a vehicle is disclosed, wherein the system comprises a clinometer in communication with a computer. The clinometer is configured to measure at least one inclination angle of the vehicle and send an electrical signal representing the at least one inclination angle to the computer. The computer is configured to transform the signal back into the at least one inclination angle and present a graphical display. The graphical display comprises at least one representation of the vehicle which rotates in real-time as the at least one inclination angle changes.

  • Patent number: 7173435
Abstract: A measurement device for measuring a thickness of a film layer over a substrate utilizes a microwave source and a resonant cavity having an open side. A microwave signal is introduced at a first end of the resonant cavity with the open side against a surface measurement sample having a film layer over a substrate, and an output signal detector senses the output power of the signal at a far end of the resonant cavity. A processor uses a difference in the resulting resonant frequency of the cavity from that using a substrate without the film layer to determine the thickness of the film layer.
