  • Patent number: 11550837
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments provide systems, devices and methods for computer-based categorization and moderation of user-generated content for publication of the content in an online environment. Exemplary embodiments determine a likelihood that the user-generated content falls into a first selected category unsuitable for publication. The likelihood is compared to a first set of threshold values and then, in this embodiment, it is determined whether to electronically publish the content in the online environment based on the comparison.

  • Publication number: 20210149940
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments provide systems, devices and methods for computer-based categorization and moderation of user-generated content for publication of the content in an online environment. Exemplary embodiments automatically determine a probability value indicating that the user-generated content is either a positive example or a negative example of one or more unsuitable categories, if the user-generated content is determined to be a positive example of any of the unsuitable categories to a predefined degree of certainty, exemplary embodiments may automatically exclude the content from publication in the online environment.

  • Patent number: 9824141
Abstract: Embodiments of the present application include an apparatus with at least one processor that is configured to determine whether to electronically publish textual data in an online environment (e.g., the Internet) based on a comparison of a computed numeric likelihood to a set of threshold values. The set of threshold values may include a first threshold value representative of numeric likelihoods assigned to a first portion of reference content suitable for publication in the online environment, and a second threshold value representative of numeric likelihoods assigned to a second portion of the reference content unsuitable for publication in the online environment. The second threshold value may exceed the first threshold value.

  • Patent number: 9712588
Abstract: A system and method for generating a stream of content for a channel. The channel application includes a content categorizer, a scoring engine and a channel engine. The content categorizer categorizes new content items received from heterogeneous data sources. The channel engine identifies a channel category for a user based at least in part on at least one of a historical trend and a user activity. The scoring engine queries the new content items based on the channel category and at least one other channel attribute. The scoring engine retrieves candidate content items that include the channel category and the other channel attribute. The scoring engine then generates a stream of content from the candidate content items for the channel.

  • Publication number: 20160224761
Abstract: A medical data system is provided that collects data concurrent with the performance of a medical procedure. The surgical support system includes a graphical display in the operating room to capture, in near real time, what happens in the operating room. Generally, the surgical support system tracks a medical process that is to be performed, such as spine surgery, and then displays an anatomic rendering for the specific aspect of the patient being operated on. The surgical system receives input through a graphical interface, the input being key data (e.g., tools, parts, and implants used the placement of implants; surgical procedures; etc.), that enables a surgical report to be promptly generated. Thus, the surgical system provides near real time collection and presentation of surgical data to ensure the data is accurate and complete.

  • Publication number: 20130191154
Abstract: Briefly, a medical data system collects data concurrent with performance of a medical procedure. In one example, the medical procedure is a surgery, and a surgical support system collects and presents surgical information concurrent with the surgery's progress. A graphical display in the operating room is used to capture in near real time, what happens in the operating room. Medical personnel in the operating environment use the surgical system to capture detailed information regarding the surgery. The surgical system allows the medical personnel to graphically record key data, which enables a surgical report to be promptly generated. In this way, the surgical system enables the near real time collection and presentation of surgical data, and ensures the data and the surgical report is accurate and complete.

  • Patent number: 5717604
Abstract: A network monitoring system operates on a computer including processor for running a multi-tasking operating system capable of having active and inactive windows. The computer is connected to a server or a service which provides access to a user application subject to a license restriction. When the user application is associated with the active window, the user application is executed by the processor. A license recovering system includes a display coupled to the processor for displaying a user interface of the operating system. A user prompting device, run by the processor, the display and associated with an inactive window, prompts a user when the the inactive window has been inactive for a period greater than a first predetermined period. A closing device closes the user application when the inactive window has been inactive for a period greater than a second predetermined period.

  • Patent number: 5647639
Abstract: An orthopedic chair for supporting a person wearing a hip spica cast in an upright position includes a seat having a front side and a rear side. A rear support, connected to the seat along said rear side, extends upwardly therefrom. A front support, spaced from the rear support, is connected to the seat along said front side and extends upwardly therefrom. A seat supporting device supports the seat above a surface. The person is supported in an upright position by said seat, and said front and rear supports with one leg extending between one side of said front support and said rear support and another leg extending between an opposite side of said front support and said rear support. Stabilizing legs can be provided to prevent tipping. Adjustment devices allow adjustment of seat height and width between the front and rear supports.
