  • Publication number: 20240034845
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of producing polymer particles by precipitation polymerisation, the method comprising: providing a reaction solution comprising (i) solvent, (ii) a photo-active compound that upon being subjected to a wavelength of light forms two o-quinodimethane structures, and (iii) a multi-dienophile compound; subjecting the reaction solution to the wavelength of light, which promotes step-growth Diels-Alder polymerisation of the photo-active and multi-dienophile compounds; wherein as a result of the step-growth Diels-Alder polymerisation polymer precipitates from the reaction solution and self-assembles into the polymer particles.

  • Publication number: 20240002756
Abstract: The present invention relates to laundry detergents which contain a cross-linked polymer obtained by a) copolymerizing monomers of general formula (I) and of general formula (II), and b) crosslinking the copolymer with a polythiol crosslinker and functionalizing with a compound of general formula (III). The present invention further relates to a process of laundering fabrics with the laundry detergent and irradiating with visible light. This shows improved attack on stains on fabric.

  • Publication number: 20230227657
Abstract: A fluorescent macromolecule comprising: a linear sequence-defined backbone; and a plurality of fluorophores attached to the backbone in a pre-determined order to form a fluorophore sequence, wherein the fluorophores in the fluorophore sequence are separated from one another by a distance permitting interaction between adjacent fluorophores such that the macromolecule emits fluorescence at a plurality of wavelengths when irradiated by light to form a fluorescence emission spectrum, and wherein the fluorescence emission spectrum has a profile that is determined by the fluorophore sequence.
