    Abstract: Systems are provided for logging transactions in heterogeneous networks that include a combination of one or more instrumented components and one or more non-instrumented components. The instrumented components are configured to generate impersonated log records for the non-instrumented components involved in the transaction processing hand-offs with the instrumented components. The impersonated log records are persisted with other log records that are generated by the instrumented components in a transaction log that is maintained by a central logging system to reflect a complete flow of the transaction processing performed on the object, including the flow through the non-instrumented component(s).

    Abstract: Techniques for implementing a feature generation pipeline for machine learning are provided. In one technique, multiple jobs are executed, each of which computes a different set of feature values for a different feature of multiple features associated with videos. A feature registry is stored that lists each of the multiple features. After the jobs are executed and the feature registry is stored, a model specification is received that indicates a set of features for a model. For each feature in a subset of the set of features, a location is identified in storage where a value for said each feature is found and the value for that feature is retrieved from the location. A feature vector is created that comprises, for each feature in the set of features, the value that corresponds to that feature. The feature vector is used to train the model or as input to the model.

The system may accommodate upwards of twelve 96- or 384-well plates simultaneously (liquid or solid media). The system may acquire and analyze a large number of samples in a short period of time. For example, over 384 samples per minute or 18,432 samples per hour. The system hardware may include a multi-spectral imager (fluorescence and bright field detection), electro-mechanical assemblies, and an optional high-resolution stage. The system may automate image acquisition, image data processing, simplify data storage, and enable automated analysis tools to significantly reduce the manual labor and time associated with such tasks. The system may allow for quick processing and analysis of data into clear phenotypic classes.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for fabricating a metal or ceramic component using a 3D printer. An entire 3D printed piece, including both the metal or ceramic component and one or more support structures, is created of a first metal or ceramic material. A sensitization layer is applied to all or part of the 3D printed piece to chemically alter portions of the first metal or ceramic material near the surface making those portions of the material more sensitive to the etching process. The etching process causes the affected material to deplete and separates the component from the support structures without requiring mechanical machining.

A user provides a high-level declaration to a cloud environment operating system, specifying the details of the infrastructure that is intended to be built on the cloud. A cloud environment operating system converts the high level declaration to a lower level declaration and then to a series of instructions that can be executed by the cloud to build the desired infrastructure. The cloud environment operating system can also continuously monitor the infrastructure once it is built on the cloud. If the cloud environment operating system notices any discrepancies between the user's original specification and the infrastructure as built on the cloud, the operating system can work to modify the existing infrastructure on the cloud to conform to the infrastructure specified by a user.
