  • Publication number: 20190052699
Abstract: Systems are provided for logging transactions in heterogeneous networks that include a combination of one or more instrumented components and one or more non-instrumented components. The instrumented components are configured to generate impersonated log records for the non-instrumented components involved in the transaction processing hand-offs with the instrumented components. The impersonated log records are persisted with other log records that are generated by the instrumented components in a transaction log that is maintained by a central logging system to reflect a complete flow of the transaction processing performed on the object, including the flow through the non-instrumented component(s).

  • Publication number: 20180237162
Abstract: A method of designing a winglet (3) for an aircraft (7) including: defining the location of the winglet root; defining a maximum height for the winglet tip; defining a maximum span for the winglet; creating the winglet shape by locating the winglet root (13?), locating the winglet tip (15?) at the location of maximum height and maximum span, and connecting the winglet root (13?) to the winglet tip (15?) using a winglet shape. The winglet shape includes a curved transition region (17?) extending away from the root, and a wing-like region extending from the distal end of the transition region (17?) to the winglet tip (15?). The step of creating the winglet shape includes iteratively changing the curvature and/or the location of the center of the curvature of the transition region, whilst maintaining the locations of the winglet root and winglet tip.

  • Publication number: 20180237128
Abstract: An aircraft (5) including a wing (3) and a winglet (1) at the end of the wing, the winglet including: a root (7); a tip (9); a transition region (11) extending away from the root; and a wing-like region (13) extending from the distal end of the transition region to the tip. When the aircraft wing (3) is under the worst-case static loading, the tip of the winglet is located at the maximum spanwise extent of the winglet (1), but when the aircraft wing (3) is under the no-load condition, the wing-like region (13) is canted inboard such that the tip (9) of the winglet (1) is located inboard of the maximum spanwise extent of the winglet.

  • Publication number: 20180211746
Abstract: A coated electrical accessory includes a bare electrical accessory and a substantially inorganic and dried coating layer coating the bare electrical accessory. The coating layer includes a heat radiating agent and a binder. When the coated electrical accessory is tested in accordance with ANSI CI 19.4-2004 with an amount of imparted current, the coated electrical accessory exhibits an operating temperature that is less than an operating temperature of a bare electrical accessory tested in accordance with ANSI CI 19.4-2004 with the same amount of imparted current. Methods are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20170221164
Abstract: System and methods for determining course need based on member data are disclosed. For a respective skill in a list of skills, a server system determines a member interest score in the respective skill. The server system then determines an employer interest score in the respective skill. The server system determines a number of courses available for the respective skill at a server system. The server system generates a content priority score for the respective skill in the list of skills based on the member interest, the employer interest, and the number of skill learning materials associated with the skill.

  • Publication number: 20170132587
Abstract: A method of processing a payment instruction including: receiving a payment instruction from a user, the payment instruction including payment details and an electronic signature, the electronic signature being destroyed if the content of payment instruction is altered; checking presence of the electronic signature and confirming integrity of the payment instruction when the electronic signature is present; wherein in event the integrity of the payment instruction is confirmed, the method: i) stores the payment instruction in a first storage unit using a relational database management system (RDBMS); ii) replicates the payment instruction and stores the replicated payment instruction in a second storage unit using the RDBMS; and iii) transmits an acknowledgement signal to the user once the payment instruction has been successfully stored in the first storage unit and the replicated payment instruction has been successfully stored in the second storage unit.

  • Patent number: 9643755
Abstract: A flexible packaging bag is closed at one end by means of a header having a removable outer header portion and an inner header portion (16A) both of which are sealed. The seal in the inner header portion is peelable. An elliptical aperture is defined in the outer header portion. The aperture is dimensioned to enable the insertion of one or more fingers and is offset proximal to a first side edge of the outer header portion. The aperture is used to suspend the bag from a display hook at an angle and can be grasped as an aid to tearing when removing the outer header portion.

  • Patent number: 9347425
Abstract: A barge has been designed to function in a four-season environment with a plurality of configurable, peripheral bays (bays) that support sustainable energy capture devices (devices). The barge is round with bays that curve inward, opposite the barge's curvature, and where devices can be placed. The bays allow the devices to be removed for maintenance by support ships. The barge is buoyant and floats independently of the devices in each bay. The barge is hollow and its entire circumference can be traversed by the crew. A central platform is contained within the barge by cables that may have wave energy capture mechanisms installed. The central platform and can be accessed by the crew through one or multiple floating walkways. Devices installed at the bays will float independently of the barge and may have wave energy capture mechanisms on them at the bay-device interface.
