  • Publication number: 20230091277
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a magnetic multilayer composite that may include a core substrate layer, an outer magnetic layer overlying a first surface of the core substrate layer, and an inner magnetic layer underlying a second surface of the core substrate layer. The composite may include a magnetic volume ratio VM/VS of at least about 0.005, where VM is equal to the total volume of magnetic material in the composite and VS is the total volume of substrate. The composite may further include a permeability rating (X, Y), where the permeability rating (X, Y) is equal to a peak point (X, Y) along a plot of the imaginary part of magnetic permeability (??) of the composite plotted as a function of frequency, where X is within the range of 10 MHz to 10 GHz, and Y is greater than 100.

  • Publication number: 20210345711
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an antiviral thin film layer that may include a metallic material. The antiviral thin film layer may have a VLT of at least about 60%. The antiviral thin film layer may further have an influenza A subtype H1N1 antiviral rating (H1N1 antiviral rating) of not greater than about 360 minutes, where the H1N1 antiviral rating is defined as the amount of time required for H1N1 viral activity on a surface of the metallic layer to drop from an initial test concentration placed on the surface of the thin film layer to less than 25.0% of the initial concentration placed on the surface as measured using ISO21702.

  • Publication number: 20100062242
Abstract: The invention relates to a solar control film comprising at least one infrared reflecting layer comprising a metal and at least one infrared absorbing layer comprising nanoparticles. The infrared absorbing layer is thereby located further from the sun than the infrared reflecting layer. By combining first reflection of the infrared energy and then absorption of the infrared energy, an optimum between reflection and absorption is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20090305013
Abstract: The invention relates to a layered structure comprising at least a first and a second layer whereby the refractive indices of the first and the second layer are matched to avoid iridescence by adding nanoparticles to at least one of the first or the second layer. The invention also relates to a window film comprising a substrate and a low iridescent coating. The invention further relates to a method to match the index of refractive indices of two layers thereby avoiding iridescence.
