    Abstract: An surgical X-ray instrument (10) is disclosed for use in guiding needles during procedures involving radiation. The instrument (10) includes a longitudinal body (12) and a handle (22). Longitudinal body (12) has a first end (18) that has at least one needle-receiving slot (14) for guiding the needle and functioning as a pointer during medical procedures using X-ray. The longitudinal body (12) is sized to allow the handle (22) to be located outside the primary radiation field. A method of manufacturing the instrument (10) is also disclosed.
