The identifying method includes steps of moving the dye ribbon; emitting light to information interpretation pattern of the dye ribbon which is being moved; sensing the light transmitted through the information interpretation pattern, so as to generate a number of sensing signals corresponding to the information interpretation pattern; and identifying at least one set of product information of the dye ribbon in accordance with the sensing signals.
