Patent number: 12149765Abstract: Introduced here are systems to manage and discover a processing offloader. A first multimedia device may identify a processing offloader in a networked environment. A first multimedia device may determine that a bandwidth of a second multimedia device in the networked environment falls below a threshold bandwidth, indicating that the second multimedia device may process instructions and render multimedia information with increased latency or delay. Based on this determination, the first multimedia device may forward instructions from the second multimedia device to the processing offloader for the processing offloader to process and render multimedia information on behalf of the second multimedia device based on the received instructions. The first multimedia device may forward rendered multimedia information from the processing offloader to the second multimedia device, and the second multimedia device may output the rendered multimedia information to an output device.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 2023Date of Patent: November 19, 2024Assignee: DISH Network L.L.C.Inventors: Manuel Novoa, III, Kan Man Wong, Vishal Neeralike, Shiqiang Chu, Aram Semerjyan, Anthony Bond, Michael Song, Anthony Kallas, Derick Wong

Patent number: 12126850Abstract: Disclosed are methods for supplementing the processing capabilities of multimedia devices in a networked environment. A method can include providing a processing offloader module to physically connect to a first multimedia device in the networked environment. The offloader can be internal and/or external to the device. The method can include identifying the offloader, identifying a second multimedia device, and determining that a bandwidth of the second device falls below a threshold bandwidth. Instructions can be forwarded from the second device to the offloader when the bandwidth of the second device exceeds the threshold bandwidth. The offloader is configured to process the instructions and render multimedia information based on the instructions.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2023Date of Patent: October 22, 2024Assignee: DISH Network L.L.C.Inventors: Manuel Novoa, III, Kan Man Wong, Vishal Neeralike, Shiqiang Chu, Aram Semerjyan, Anthony Bond, Michael Song, Anthony Kallas, Derick Wong

Patent number: 7907367Abstract: A punched gimbal dimple with an annular coined periphery extending outward from the dimple in a head suspension and a method for producing such a dimple. The dimple and its coined periphery are fabricated from a dimple punch and a die with a raised coining surface. The coined area on the dimple periphery can be seen by optical systems as a shiny ring, which is useful for aligning a slider to the dimple. The coined periphery is also less distorted by dimple punching than a non-coined periphery.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2007Date of Patent: March 15, 2011Assignee: Magnecomp CorporationInventors: David Chocholaty, Leroy Wielenga, Chu Wong

Patent number: 6740527Abstract: Cyanide-free reagents for the determination of hemoglobin and leukocytes present in a blood sample comprise an aqueous solutions of at least one quaternary ammonium salt, preferably selected from the group of alkyltrimethylammonium salts, alkyldimethylbenzylammonium salts or alkylpyridium salts consisting of tetradecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (TTAB), dodecyltrimethyl ammonium chloride, cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide, hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide and benzalkonium chlorides, and hydroxylamine salts, especially hydrochloride, sulfate and phosphates and other acid salts. The method involves mixing the reagent with a diluent-diluted blood sample, presenting it to an absorbance spectrophotometer and measuring the resulting optical density as an indicator of hemoglobin concentration. This cyanide-free reagent could be used solely for hemoglobin determinations, or, it can also be used in leukocyte counting and sizing using hematology instrumentation.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 1997Date of Patent: May 25, 2004Assignee: Abbott LaboratoriesInventors: Show-Chu Wong, Sylvia Khoo

Patent number: 5227304Abstract: An improved multi-purpose blood diluent for use with a gentle lysing agent and improved detergent reagent system are disclosed which are especially suitable for use in routine electronic enumeration and volumetric differentation of blood cells. The preferred imidazole stabilizer used in the diluent reagent is found to be an excellent cell stabilizing agent and buffer for maintaining cell morphology during operation. A synergistic combination of a superior antimicrobial agent, the preferred Triadine-10, used in the diluent and the detergent reagents, not only prevents bacterial or fungal growth, but also helps to stabilize cells and to obtain distinct volumetric differentiation of certain leukocyte subpopulations. The preferred Brij 35 in a balanced salt solution has proved to be an efficient and cost effective detergent to ensure accurate results and trouble-free operation of the analyzers.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 1992Date of Patent: July 13, 1993Assignee: Sequoia Turner CorporationInventor: Show-Chu Wong
