  • Publication number: 20040000752
Abstract: A document guiding device for a document feeder. The document guiding device mainly comprises an inner wall, an outer wall and a lubricating element. The spatial area between the outer wall and the inner wall form a reversing passageway that accommodates a transiting document. The reversing passageway has a document inlet end and an outlet end both positioned on the same side of the document guiding device. The lubricating element is attached to the interior surface of the outer wall close to the area of contact between the front end of the document and the bend of the outer wall. • Patent number: 6628416
Abstract: A method and user interface is provided for use on a computer system coupled with a scanner for performing a scan operation on an original document, which allows the user to acquire scanned images in an easier and more user-friendly manner. The method allows the user to scan an original document without requiring the user to have learned knowledge background in the science of image processing, and also allows the scanner to perform only one scan operation on the original document. These features allow the use of the scanner to be easier and more user-friendly than the prior art. By the, method, the first step is to determine a set of image processing settings by a scanner driving program that are suited for optimal scan of the original document; and then the scanner is activated to perform a scan operation on the original document based on the image processing settings to thereby obtain a primitive scanned image.

  • Publication number: 20030164894
Abstract: An optical chassis of plating film layer reflection and its manufacturing procedure, the optical chassis includes: a shell body, a light source, plural reflection elements, a lens set, and an imaging apparatus. The reflection elements made of glass material in the prior art are changed to a layer or multi-layer of plating films of reflection material which are directly coated on the inside walls of the shell body of an optical chassis and used as the reflection elements thereof. Also, the shell body is designed as a structure for easy off-die and assembly. Not only the present invention completely gets rid of the prior positioning devices for glass mirrors, such as spring pieces, screws, and the like, but also it decreases the number of parts, saves assembly time and lowers the production cost. And, further it is without lowering the quality of image scanning, which is resulted from no loose or no movement of the reflection elements.

  • Patent number: 6452631
Abstract: The present invention improves the contrast of the image signal before further adjustment by the principle of superposition of the optical-transferring system. There are two ways to carry out the principle of superposition one is in space domain, the other is in frequency domain. Each of them can be implemented by the system or method of the present invention. To implement the compensation in space domain, the present invention utilize the result of scanning the correction board to compensate the optical energy scattered by the optical-transferring system. A pixel in object space can be expressed in terms of the linear combination of the corresponding pixels in image space according to the principle of superposition. Thus is obtained by extracting the coefficients of the linear combination. The pixels of desired picture in image space is multiplied by the compensation vector and the image with sharp contrast is produced by the present invention in space domain.
