    Abstract: Methods and a computing device are disclosed. A computing device may include a managed device having embedded firmware. When a failure occurs with respect to the managed device, drivers within the computing device may collect failure data from a driver stack of the computing device and from the managed device. The computing device may send the collected failure data to one or more second computing devices to be stored and analyzed. The computing device may include a health monitor for periodically collecting telemetry data from the computing device and the managed device. When the health monitor becomes aware of conditions indicative of a possible impending failure, the health monitor may trigger collection of sickness telemetry data from the computing device and the managed device. Collected data from the managed device may be made available to a vendor of the managed device.

    Abstract: A method and system for improving the quality of original metadata associated with media on a computer network, such as multimedia and streaming media, includes analyzing each field of the URL of the multimedia and streaming media. Each field is analyzed to identify new metadata associated with that field. Identified new metadata is added to the original metadata. In another embodiment, the fields in the URL are reorganized in reverse order and metadata associated with a prefix of fields of the reorganized URL is added to the original metadata. In yet another embodiment, the contents of the field next to the prefix of fields is used to improve the quality of the original metadata.

    Abstract: A system and method for searching a network for target content, such as media files, decompose encountered web pages into frafments (218). Each fragment is searched for character patterns, which relate to the target content (220). The results of each fragment search are combined (226) to provide network-based search results to a user, agent, and/or system (228). The system and method search a network in a more efficient manner, and utilize less memory and processing resources, than prior art search engines and/or agents. This is especially applicable to target content that comprises streaming media, multimedia, and metadata related thereto, because of the large amounts of data that are processed.
