  • Publication number: 20130116560
Abstract: The present application relates to an ultrasound temperature mapping system and method. The ultrasound temperature mapping system for measuring a temperature of an object comprises an ultrasound transducer and a processing module. The ultrasound transducer is configured to acquire a first image and a second image with respect to the object. The processing module implements a zero-crossing algorithm to process the first image to yield a plurality of first zero-crossing points and implements a cross-correlation algorithm to process the first image and the second images based on the plurality of first zero-crossing points so as to obtain a plurality of displacements. The processing module further calculates the temperature based on the plurality of displacements.

  • Patent number: 8410664
Abstract: The method of changing ultrasound wave frequency by using the acoustic matching layer presents a replaceable acoustic matching layer to offer an effective means of filtering the original broadband frequency of an ultrasonic transducer into certain composite discontinuous frequencies. The filtering effect could be improved by connecting the electrodes of the acoustic matching layer when it is made of a poled piezoelectric material. This method may provide novel applications for commercial ultrasonic transducers.

  • Publication number: 20120274182
Abstract: An ultrasonic sensor includes a casing body and a piezoelectric element. The casing body has a base wall and a surrounding wall that cooperates with the base wall to define an interior space. The base wall has a top surface and a bottom surface. The top surface has a first section, a second section that extends between the first section and the surrounding wall, and a connecting section interconnecting the first and second sections. A distance between the second section and the bottom surface is larger than that between the first section and the bottom surface such that the connecting section and the first section cooperate to define a recess. The piezoelectric element is confined in the recess.

  • Publication number: 20080108900
Abstract: An ultrasound transducer apparatus for shaping the ultrasound coverage field per application requirement in both the radiating and receiving mode of operation. Wave coverage field is shaped by forming at least one cut at designated location on the housing wall. A cut on the housing wall of the transducer pot-shaped structural body results into the reduction of wave intensity, either radiating or receiving, toward that direction where the cut is located.

  • Publication number: 20070116869
Abstract: This invention discloses a coating method to apply a layer of nano-particles adsorbed on submicron ceramic oxide particles, which can prevent the agglomeration of nano-particles by the effects of Brownian motion and van der Waals force. Using this method, nano-sized titania can be uniformly coated on the surface of silica. This method is conducted in an aqueous solution and able to fabricate a coating layer in a controlled thickness between 5 to tens nm. After calcination, the coated particles can be assembled to form a photonic bandgap crystal. This invention also discloses a coating method to apply a uniform nano TiO2-coating layer on the SiO2 photonic bandgap crystals.
