  • Patent number: 7862313
Abstract: A compressor and an oil separating device therefor are provided which are capable of always maintaining a predetermined amount of oil in the compressor without additionally providing an oil separating device along a refrigerating cycle system. This results in the refrigerating cycle system having simplified piping and the refrigerant discharged from the compressor having a constant pressure, thereby preventing a function of the refrigerating cycle system from being reduced. The compressor includes a casing, a compression device having a compression chamber disposed within the casing and configured to receive, compress, and output a refrigerant, and an oil separating device disposed within the casing.

  • Publication number: 20100212352
Abstract: A scroll compressor and a refrigerating apparatus having the same are provided. In the scroll compressor, an angle formed between an injection passage that guides refrigerant from a condenser back into an intermediate compression chamber and a back pressure passage that guides refrigerant from the intermediate compression chamber into a back pressure chamber may be designed so as to prevent leakage of refrigerant from the intermediate compression chamber into the back pressure chamber. This allows an appropriate pressure to be maintained the back pressure chamber, and increases an amount of refrigerant supplied into the compression chambers, thereby improving performance of the scroll compressor and a refrigerating apparatus in which such a scroll compressor is installed.

  • Patent number: 7632081
Abstract: A scroll compressor is provided. The scroll compressor includes a casing, an oil pump, an oil retrieving port, and an oil retrieving unit. The casing has a fluid storage area in a lower portion thereof. The oil pump is provided in the lower portion of the casing, and has a suction unit which suctions fluid from the fluid storage area. The oil retrieving port is in the casing to allow oil retrieved from an external oil separator to flow into the casing. The oil retrieving unit is connected to the oil retrieving port and provides a path which directs the retrieved oil to the suction unit.

  • Publication number: 20080267803
Abstract: A compressor and an oil supplying structure therefor are provided. When a compressor is operated at a high speed or low speed, a predetermined amount of oil is supplied to compression pockets formed between a wrap of an orbiting scroll and a wrap of a fixed scroll. Pressure leakage between the wraps may be prevented, thereby enhancing a performance of the compressor. Further, since friction between the orbiting scroll and the fixed scroll may be prevented, abrasion of the components may be minimized.

  • Publication number: 20080175738
Abstract: A compressor and oil blocking device therefor are provided which are capable of preventing oil from spreading onto, for example, a balance weight, which are capable of preventing oil from being excessively sucked into a compression device by a separating device disposed between a driving motor and the compression device, and which are capable of constantly maintaining a predetermined amount of oil in compression chambers regardless of a rotational speed of the driving motor by directly supplying oil to a bearing surface and the compression chambers and by easily discharging gas from an oil drain passage. A trochoid gear pump may be used to smoothly supply oil to the compression device. Further, a synchronous reluctance motor may be used to enhance a performance of the compressor and to expand a driving region of the compressor.

  • Patent number: 7390180
Abstract: A hermetic compressor uses an oil pump that includes a trochoid gear. Therefore, regardless of the rotation speed of a driving motor of the compressor, a sufficient amount of oil can always be pumped. The oil pump unit may include a plurality of suction holes with openings at different heights. If the refrigerant and oil separate, at least one of the openings will admit oil into the oil pump unit, to ensure lubricating oil is supplied to the moving parts of the compressor.

  • Patent number: 7371058
Abstract: An oil feeding propeller of a scroll compressor for preventing deterioration of oil feeding generated when a rotation shaft is rotated in reverse is disclosed. The propeller is tightly fitted into the lower side of the oil passage of the rotation shaft, sucks oil into the shell due to rotation shaft of shaft to raise oil to a compression part of the scroll compressor. The propeller includes a plate without operative direction for feeding oil in a predetermined direction so as to raise a predetermined quantity of oil regardless of the rotation direction shaft.

  • Publication number: 20070227821
Abstract: An oil feed controller of an inverter compressor includes a rotation shaft having an oil passage formed in the axial direction. An oil feed pump feeds oil reserved in a shell to a compression part through the oil passage. An installation groove is formed in the rotation shaft to communicate with the oil passage. An insertion member is inserted into and fixed in the installation groove and has an oil feeding passage formed in the axial direction. An oil feed controller is installed in the oil feeding passage, and controls the quantity of oil ascending to the compression part through the oil passage by reducing the cross section of the oil passage as rotational speed of the rotation shaft is increased.

  • Publication number: 20060222549
Abstract: An oil feed controller of an inverter compressor controls the quantity of feeding oil to prevent excess oil from being fed to a compression part when rotational speed of a rotation shaft is increased. The oil feed controller includes an installation hole formed in the rotation shaft to communicate with an oil passage of the rotation shaft, a bypass formed in the rotation shaft to communicate with the leading end of the installation hole, and an oil feeding controlling part installed in the installation hole to close the bypass when the rotation shaft rotates at low speed and to open the bypass when the rotation shaft rotates at high speed such that the quantity of oil ascending to the compression part through the oil passage is controlled.
