Patent number: 7862313Abstract: A compressor and an oil separating device therefor are provided which are capable of always maintaining a predetermined amount of oil in the compressor without additionally providing an oil separating device along a refrigerating cycle system. This results in the refrigerating cycle system having simplified piping and the refrigerant discharged from the compressor having a constant pressure, thereby preventing a function of the refrigerating cycle system from being reduced. The compressor includes a casing, a compression device having a compression chamber disposed within the casing and configured to receive, compress, and output a refrigerant, and an oil separating device disposed within the casing.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2007Date of Patent: January 4, 2011Assignee: LG Electronics Inc.Inventors: Seon-Woong Hwang, Myung-Kyun Kiem, Byung-Kil Yoo, Cheol-Hwan Kim, Chul-Su Jung, Dong-Koo Shin, Se-Heon Choi, Yang-Hee Cho, Byeong-Chul Lee, Hyo-Keun Park, Sung-Yong Ahn, Ki-Tae Jang

Publication number: 20100212352Abstract: A scroll compressor and a refrigerating apparatus having the same are provided. In the scroll compressor, an angle formed between an injection passage that guides refrigerant from a condenser back into an intermediate compression chamber and a back pressure passage that guides refrigerant from the intermediate compression chamber into a back pressure chamber may be designed so as to prevent leakage of refrigerant from the intermediate compression chamber into the back pressure chamber. This allows an appropriate pressure to be maintained the back pressure chamber, and increases an amount of refrigerant supplied into the compression chambers, thereby improving performance of the scroll compressor and a refrigerating apparatus in which such a scroll compressor is installed.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 17, 2010Publication date: August 26, 2010Inventors: Cheol-Hwan KIM, Se-Heon Choi, Byeong-Chul Lee, Yang-Hee Cho, Chul-Su Jung, In-Hon Won

Publication number: 20080267803Abstract: A compressor and an oil supplying structure therefor are provided. When a compressor is operated at a high speed or low speed, a predetermined amount of oil is supplied to compression pockets formed between a wrap of an orbiting scroll and a wrap of a fixed scroll. Pressure leakage between the wraps may be prevented, thereby enhancing a performance of the compressor. Further, since friction between the orbiting scroll and the fixed scroll may be prevented, abrasion of the components may be minimized.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2008Publication date: October 30, 2008Inventors: Byung-Kil Yoo, Myung-Kyun Kiem, Chul-Su Jung, Byeong-Chul Lee, Se-Heon Choi

Publication number: 20080175738Abstract: A compressor and oil blocking device therefor are provided which are capable of preventing oil from spreading onto, for example, a balance weight, which are capable of preventing oil from being excessively sucked into a compression device by a separating device disposed between a driving motor and the compression device, and which are capable of constantly maintaining a predetermined amount of oil in compression chambers regardless of a rotational speed of the driving motor by directly supplying oil to a bearing surface and the compression chambers and by easily discharging gas from an oil drain passage. A trochoid gear pump may be used to smoothly supply oil to the compression device. Further, a synchronous reluctance motor may be used to enhance a performance of the compressor and to expand a driving region of the compressor.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2007Publication date: July 24, 2008Inventors: Chul-Su JUNG, Myung-Kyun Kiem, Ki-Tae Jang, Byeong-Chul Lee, Se-Heon Choi, Seon-Woong Hwang, Byung-Kil Yoo

Patent number: 7390180Abstract: A hermetic compressor uses an oil pump that includes a trochoid gear. Therefore, regardless of the rotation speed of a driving motor of the compressor, a sufficient amount of oil can always be pumped. The oil pump unit may include a plurality of suction holes with openings at different heights. If the refrigerant and oil separate, at least one of the openings will admit oil into the oil pump unit, to ensure lubricating oil is supplied to the moving parts of the compressor.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2006Date of Patent: June 24, 2008Assignee: LG Electronics Inc.Inventors: Dong-Soo Lee, Chul-Su Jung, Jeong-Hwan Suh, Seung-Yup Kim

Patent number: 7371058Abstract: An oil feeding propeller of a scroll compressor for preventing deterioration of oil feeding generated when a rotation shaft is rotated in reverse is disclosed. The propeller is tightly fitted into the lower side of the oil passage of the rotation shaft, sucks oil into the shell due to rotation shaft of shaft to raise oil to a compression part of the scroll compressor. The propeller includes a plate without operative direction for feeding oil in a predetermined direction so as to raise a predetermined quantity of oil regardless of the rotation direction shaft.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2005Date of Patent: May 13, 2008Assignee: LG Electronics Inc.Inventors: Chul-su Jung, Byung-kil Yoo, Byeong-chul Lee, Hong-hee Park, Se-heon Choi

Publication number: 20070227821Abstract: An oil feed controller of an inverter compressor includes a rotation shaft having an oil passage formed in the axial direction. An oil feed pump feeds oil reserved in a shell to a compression part through the oil passage. An installation groove is formed in the rotation shaft to communicate with the oil passage. An insertion member is inserted into and fixed in the installation groove and has an oil feeding passage formed in the axial direction. An oil feed controller is installed in the oil feeding passage, and controls the quantity of oil ascending to the compression part through the oil passage by reducing the cross section of the oil passage as rotational speed of the rotation shaft is increased.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 11, 2007Publication date: October 4, 2007Applicant: LG ELECTRONIC INC.Inventors: Hong-hee PARK, Myung-kyun KIEM, Dong-won YOO, Chul-su JUNG, Byung-kil YOO, Se-heon CHOI
