  • Patent number: 10580184
Abstract: A method implemented in a computing device for inserting an effect into a 360 video where the computing device receives the effect from a user. The method receives a target region from the user, the target region corresponding to a location within the 360 video for inserting the effect; for each frame in the 360 video. The method then inserts the effect on a surface of a spherical model based on the target region and generates at least two projection frames containing the effect from the spherical model. The method then stitches the projection frames to generate a panoramic representation of the effect, and blends the panoramic representation of the effect with an original source panorama to generate a modified 360 video frame with the effect.

  • Patent number: 10339688
Abstract: A computing device for inserting an effect into a 360 video receives the effect from a user. A target region is also received from the user, where the target region corresponds to a location within the 360 video for inserting the effect. Next, the following steps are performed for each frame in the 360 video. The effect is inserted on a surface of a spherical model based on the target region, and two half-sphere frames containing the effect from the spherical model are generated. The two half-sphere frames are stitched to generate a panoramic representation of the effect, and the panoramic representation of the effect is blended with an original source panorama to generate a modified 360 video frame with the effect.

  • Publication number: 20120117472
Abstract: A method is implemented in a computing system for controlling the application of special effects to a video stream. The method comprises identifying applications requesting access to the video stream and retrieving identifiers associated with each of the applications requesting access. Based on the identifiers, a query operation is performed to obtain information relating to the applications. The method further comprises receiving a selection of one or more applications associated with the identifiers. Based on the selection, a version of the video stream is routed to each application.

  • Patent number: 7463816
Abstract: The present invention is a method for enhancing image resolution. A high-resolution image is decomposed into plural primary image data with DVD/SVCD/VCD standard image resolution and then these plural primary image data are stored in plural user data format or secondary viewing angle data format of DVD/VCD/SVCD image data carrier. Next, the average value of pixels at the same positions of the plural primary image data is calculated and secondary image data are formed. Finally, the secondary image data are stored in a video-audio data format or a primary viewing angle data format of DVD/VCD/SVCD image data carrier. In order to play the high-resolution image data carrier, the plural primary image data is combined and restored to form a high-resolution image, hence achieving the goal of enhancing the image resolution of DVD/SVCD/VCD.

  • Publication number: 20070280635
Abstract: A method dynamically adjusts recording time based on the difference of the video/audio characteristics between two consecutive image clips in a designated program. First, the method receives data signals corresponding to a designated program including a plurality of consecutive image clips and commercial clips, each of which is broadcast between two corresponding images clips. The method begins to record the data signals at a predetermined start time. Next, the method compares the video/audio characteristic of a first image clip broadcast before a reference commercial clip and a second image clip broadcast directly after the reference commercial clip. If the difference of the video/audio characteristics between the first and second image clips is larger than a predetermined value, the method stops recording the data signals.

A high-resolution image is decomposed into plural primary image data with DVD/SVCD/VCD standard image resolution and then these plural primary image data are stored in plural user data format or secondary viewing angle data format of DVD/NVCD/SVCD image data carrier. Next, the average value of pixels at the same positions of the plural primary image data is calculated and secondary image data are formed. Finally, the secondary image data are stored in a video-audio data format or a primary viewing angle data format of DVD/VCD/SVCD image data carrier. • Patent number: 6775467
Abstract: A DVD playback system, associated with a DVD storage media. It comprises a loader, a system parser, a decoding device and a video/sub-picture composer. The loader system is for reading the digital data tagged with stream IDs from the DVD storage media, a primary sub-picture control signal (SP1) from the navigator, and a secondary sub-picture control signal (SP2) from the user interface. The system parser and the decoding device are for dividing the digital data into an video stream, at least one audio stream, a primary sub-picture stream and a secondary sub-picture stream and then decoding each individual stream separately into video signal, audio signal and sub-picture signal. The sub-picture signal comprises of aprimary sub-picture and a secondary sub-picture signals; The video/sub-picture composer is for mixing the video signal and the sub-picture signal to generate the video output, while the audio output module is for generating the audio output.
