  • Patent number: 8653389
Abstract: A keyswitch device includes a supporting seat, a key cap, a circuit board disposed on the supporting seat, and an elastic member located between the key cap and the circuit board. The supporting seat includes a base board and two first confining members that are formed on the base board and that are spaced apart from each other. The key cap includes a cap body and two first hooks that engage respectively the first confining members, thereby inhibiting the key cap to move in horizontal directions with respect to the supporting seat, and allowing the key cap to move vertically in a range equal to the height of the first blocking parts of the first confining members. • Publication number: 20140045652
Abstract: Methods and devices are described that utilize skip fire techniques to rapidly meet requests for transitory changes in the output of an engine. Specifically, the fraction or percentage of the working cycles that are fired can be changed during a transitory event so that the engine delivers the desired transitory engine output. Once the transitory event is over, normal engine operation may be restored. The described techniques are useful in a variety of applications that require a relatively quick, but transitory, reduction in engine output to meet vehicle control requirements. One particularly useful application is during transmission shift events. Other representative applications include: loss of traction events, stability control events, wheel hop prevention events, etc.

  • Publication number: 20140041625
Abstract: The described embodiments relate generally to skip fire control of internal combustion engines and particularly to mechanisms for determining a desired operational firing fraction. In some embodiments, a firing fraction determining unit is arranged to determine a firing fraction suitable for delivering a requested engine output. The firing fraction determining unit may utilize data structures such as lookup tables in the determination of the desired firing fraction. In one aspect the desired engine output and one or more operational power train parameters such as current engine speed, are used as indices to a lookup table used to select a desired firing fraction. In other embodiments, additional indices to the data structure may include any one of: transmission gear; manifold absolute pressure (MAP); manifold air temperature; a parameter indicative of mass air charge (MAC); cam position; cylinder torque output; maximum permissible manifold pressure; vehicle speed; and barometric pressure.

  • Patent number: 8582852
Abstract: It is developed a Dual-Spectrum Heat Pattern Separation (DS-HPS) algorithm to quantify the energy from the area of the high temperature tissues, called qH map, and decompose the body surface into the high and normal temperature areas based on a pair of middle-wave Infra-red images and long-wave Infra-red images. Further, with longitudinal registration, we can detect the cancerous tissues and assess the chemotherapy treatment response on a pixel by pixel basis according to the change of the qH map derived by the DS-HPS algorithm. The preliminary result shows the area and the qH values in the high temperature area are decreased as the patients receive more chemotherapy. These suggest the proposed algorithm could capture the incremental or decremental of the energies emitted by the cancerous tissues, which has the potentials for chemotherapy assessment and early detection.
