  • Patent number: 7032184
Abstract: A video display apparatus having user-selected hotkey functions and a method of using them is disclosed in which a function of the video display system can be changed by a user. Information on a menu item is selected by a user from an OSD menu which the video display apparatus has stored in a memory unit as hotkey button information. The information is read from the memory unit to be executed whenever the user selects a given hotkey button. The hotkey button information may be re-set according to the user's desires, so that the user controls the functions of the video display apparatus with more ease and convenience.

  • Patent number: 6061048
Abstract: In a monitor screen control apparatus which receives video and synchronizing signals from a host computer and automatically displays screen images in the middle of screen of a monitor regardless of computer-supported display modes, the automatic controlling of the centering of the monitor screen is achieved by a first control routine of transmitting mode data from a host computer to an associated monitor and a second control routine of receiving the mode data at the monitor. The second control routine has the step of calculating the screen position which includes calculating a horizontal position, a horizontal size, a vertical position, and a vertical size.

  • Patent number: 6025884
Abstract: A video display monitor apparatus has a composite input circuit, which receives either a composite TV signal or an additional composite television signal supplied from a video player such as a video cassette recorder, separates horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals, Y and C video signals from the received composite television signal, and transforms the separated Y and C video signals into analog R, G and B video signals. Two video processing circuits and a timing control circuit are provided for the display monitor apparatus. The timing control circuit performs timing control for the video processing circuits, in response to the synchronizing signals and additional horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals applied from a personal computer. The viewing area of the image formed by video signals from the computer is disposed within the viewing area of the image formed by the TV video signals in the form of picture-in-picture.

  • Patent number: 5990970
Abstract: Controlling the screen size of a wide display monitor, by which the screen size can be regulated by the user's pressing a key such that the screen is maintained stable according to the switching of wide view mode and/or expanded view mode, wherein a display mode and a DAC level dependent upon the display mode are selected. It is then checked to make sure that the DAC level is entered, when the display mode and the DAC level are entered. Then the DAC levels of horizontal and vertical sizes are calculated, and the screen size is controlled according to the calculated DAC levels of the horizontal and vertical sizes.

  • Patent number: 5828834
Abstract: An apparatus in a display system for setting an ID password includes a microprocessor, an input device and an output device. The input device incorporates an array of user manipulated keys so as to allow a user to input an ID code to the microprocessor. The microprocessor includes a program for comparing an inputted ID code with preset ID data stored in a memory to determine consistency therebetween. The microprocessor further includes a program for displaying information visually to a user and so as to allow only an authorized user to use the display thereby protecting private confidential information from misuse. A method for implementing the ID password system includes generally the steps of inputting an ID code via an input device, comparing an inputted ID code with a preset data stored in a memory and thereby controlling the display. As a result, a display employing an embodiment of the present invention may be used by an authorized user only.
