    Abstract: An optical disc drive for marking a label side of a lightscribe disc is provided. The optical disc drive includes a metallic plate, a spoke detecting device and a spindle motor PCB. The spoke detecting device is used for detecting spoke patterns on the lightscribe disc. The spindle motor PCB is supported on the metallic plate and having a notch such that a receptacle is defined by sidewalls of the notch and a surface of the metallic plate. The spoke detecting device is received in the receptacle such that the spoke detecting device is separated from the lightscribe disc by a specified gap.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an antistatic structure for an optical disc device. An optical pick-up unit module of an optical disk device is installed on a chassis and the chassis is movably installed in a lower cover of the device. Furthermore, the antistatic structure includes at least one upper connecting portion capable of contacting with the optical pick-up unit module and at least one lower connecting portion capable of contacting with the lower cover. Whereby, the static electricity generated by the optical pick-up unit module can be conducted to the lower cover through the upper and lower connecting portions so as to attain the antistatic discharge (ESD) protection effectively.

A positioning structure includes a locking member fixed on the outer casing, and a support member for immobilizing the locking member with respect to the outer casing in such a manner that the locking member extends upwardly into the outer casing to prevent movement of the tray with respect to the outer casing. A protrusion portion of the outer casing surrounding the locking member and extending in the moving direction defines the support member.

    Abstract: An optical disc drive for reading the recorded data on an optical disc is provided. The optical disc drive includes a chassis, a turntable and a pickup head. The inner top surface of the chassis has a protruding structure or an escape-prevention component. The turntable is disposed inside the chassis for holding and rotating the optical disc. The protruding structure or the escape-prevention component is located above the optical disc when the optical disc is placed onto the turntable inside the chassis. The movable pickup head is disposed inside the chassis for reading the data recorded on the optical disc. The protruding structure or the escape-prevention component shortens the distance between the top surface of the optical disc and the inner top surface of the chassis. Thus, the optical disc is prevented from escaping from the turntable when the optical disc drive vibrates due to an external force.
