  • Patent number: 8830306
Abstract: A representative display device includes a display module, a polarization controller and a compensator. Each pixel region of the display module has a first sub-pixel region, a second sub-pixel region and a third sub-pixel region respectively providing a first light, a second light and a third light of the same polarization. The polarization controller has control regions that control the polarization of the light passing therethrough. The compensator has first compensating regions, second compensating regions and third compensating regions corresponding to the first sub-pixel regions, the second sub-pixel regions and the third sub-pixel regions, respectively. The compensations of phase retardation of the first light, the second light and the third light generated by passing through the first compensating regions, the second compensating regions and the third compensating regions are different from one another.

  • Patent number: 8264650
Abstract: A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate, a second substrate and a liquid crystal layer. The first substrate has a pixel electrode having many first slits and many second slits, connected to a third slit. Each first and second slit respectively stretches along a first and a second vector with a starting point in a junction with the third slit. Liquid crystal molecules near an alignment layer of the second substrate is aligned by the alignment layer to pre-tilt. Each projection of the long-axis of at least part of the pre-tilted liquid crystal molecules on the second substrate forms a third vector with a starting point at the end of the liquid crystal molecule near the alignment layer. An included angle between the first and the third vector is ?1, and an included angle between the second and the third vector is ?2. 90°<?1<160°, and 90°<?2<160°.

  • Publication number: 20100115108
Abstract: The invention discloses a wireless device and a method for automatically establishing a wireless connection. The wireless device is selectively connected to the information providing device. The information providing device stores setting information relative to a wireless network. The wireless device comprises a wireless interface and a first wired interface. The information providing device comprises a second wired interface. When the first wired interface of the wireless device is coupled to the second wired interface of the information providing device, alternatively, the information providing device automatically provides the setting information to the wireless device, or the wireless device actively gathers the setting information from the information providing device. After fetching the setting information, the wireless device utilizes the setting information to connect the wireless network via the wireless interface.

  • Patent number: 7573545
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device reduces the color shift problem typically observed at wide viewing angles; the device includes a phase retardation compensation film, a biaxial compensation film, and a liquid crystal display panel between the two films. Refractive indexes of the phase retardation compensation film having a thickness d1 and the biaxial compensation film having a thickness d2 are nx1, ny1, nz1, nx2, ny2, and nz2 in a first, a second and a third directions perpendicular to each other. The third direction is parallel to the normal directions of the surfaces of the phase retardation compensation film and the biaxial compensation film. Optical compensation values of the phase retardation compensation film and the biaxial compensation film are Rth1 and Rth2 and derived from [(nx1+ny1)/2?nz1]×d1 and [(nx2+ny2)/2?nz2]×d2 respectively. Rth1 is not less than 50 nm, and the sum of Rth1 and Rth2 can be equal to 271 nm.
