When the handle unit is pressed down to shift the driving tool from an initial to an energy-storing state, the locking member is driven to move the striking member away from the striking opening. When the handle unit is pressed down continuously to shift the driving tool from the energy-storing to a striking state, the front engaging end is driven to disengage from the engaging slot, and the striking member is driven to move down to the striking opening for performing a striking stroke.
