    Abstract: A pivotal device is mounted between a cap and a base of an electronic appliance, and has a resisting washer and an actuating washer rotated relative to each other. The resisting washer has an arcuate skewed surface formed in a side facing to the actuating washer and the actuating washer has lugs formed in a side and sliding along the skewed surface. With the coordination of the lugs and skewed surface, the cap has an enhancing friction when the cap is closing relative the base. Furthermore, the cap has a decreasing friction when the cap is opening relative to the base.

    Abstract: An I/O shield used in an electronic apparatus is provided. The electronic apparatus comprises a casing having an opening. The I/O shield comprises a body and at least a flexible lateral plate. The body has an edge with many protrusions arranged thereon. The flexible lateral plate has a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge parallel to the first lateral edge. The first lateral edge is disposed on the edge. The flexible lateral plate tilts towards the protrusions, and a surface of the flexible lateral plate faces the protrusions. When a rim of the opening is situated between the protrusions and the flexible lateral plate, the flexible lateral plate forms a bend structure between the first lateral edge and the second lateral edge, so that part of the surface near the second lateral edge presses the rim and clamps the rim of the opening together with the protrusions.

    Abstract: A self locking hinge includes a driving element, a housing, a slider and a hooking part. The housing is pivotably mounted on the driving element and has an opening formed on a wall of the housing. The slider is movably disposed in the housing and always kept in contact with the driving element. The hooking part is disposed in the opening and may be moved out of or into the housing. The driving element moves the slider such that the slider presses against the hooking part and prevents the hooking part from being pushed back into the housing.

    Abstract: An auto-lock mechanism to be mounted on an image input/output device includes a first swingable element and a second swingable element. When the image input/output device is not slantwise and an upper cover of the device is opened, one of the first and second swingable elements swings but does not hook the other of the first and second elements. When the image input/output device is slantwise, both of the first and second swingable elements simultaneously swing, approach and hook each other such that the upper cover remains closed and is free from detachment to hurt a user.
