Abstract: There is provided in a preferred embodiment a retention bracket for coupling a steering column member to a vehicle cross-support member. The bracket includes a mounting shoe and a reinforcing rod. The mounting shoe has gusset plates integrally joined by a forward end plate, and a lowermost flange extending inwardly along a bottom edge portion of one gusset plate towards the other gusset plate to define a lowermost channel. The reinforcing rod includes an elongated reinforcement portion and a threaded bored portion, the reinforcing rod being positioned in the channel with an outer peripheral surface coupled to the flange and the other gusset plate. The threaded bore portion defines an internally threaded bore for complementary mated engagement with a threaded end of an attachment bolt in the securement of the steering column member to the retention bracket.

Abstract: A method for forming a conductive pattern on a substrate deposits, onto a surface of the substrate, a nanoparticle ink that comprises nanoparticles of a conductive or semiconductor material, at least one low boiling point solvent, and from 0.1 weight % to 50 weight % of a high boiling point solvent. The method forms a partially wet patterned substrate by drying the deposited nanoparticle ink to a wetness range between about 3 weight % and 8 weight % solvent. The method directs a patterned illumination of laser light to cure the deposited ink pattern on the partially wet patterned substrate.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for performing a search based on a snapshot image captured from media content presented to a user. The snapshot image contains features of the media content that the user wishes to target for the search. A search system recognizes features of the snapshot image and creates a search query based on the snapshot image. The search query is used to identify features of the snapshot image, and search results related to the identified features are presented to the user. Supplemental data or user input received with the snapshot image may be used in analyzing and identifying features of the snapshot image.

Abstract: An assembling structure includes a base, an assembling body and a fastening element. The base has a ring groove. The assembling body includes at least two first fastening portions. The fastening element is disposed inside the ring groove and can be rotatably installed on the base. The fastening element includes at least two second fastening portions. The fastening element can rotate relative to the base and has a fastening position and a releasing position. When the fastening element is at the fastening position, the two first fastening portions are fastened with the two second fastening portions respectively. When the fastening element is at the releasing position, the two first fastening portions are detached from the two second fastening portions respectively.

Abstract: An interactive education system for teaching and practicing art and associated methodology. The objective of the system is two-fold. First, the system displays distortion-free demonstrable or traceable images, both still and motion, onto a student's working paper on a study desk. The system can demonstrate the proper writing sequence to achieve a certain art and illustrate the path and speed of a stroke. In the preferred embodiment, the system uses a projector which is configured in a way to prevent the formation of a shadow due to student's hand during writing. The method for the system involves determining the potential shadow from the user and recommending a location of one or more projectors accordingly. The second objective of the system is to provide quantitative feedback to the student. To this end, the system can evaluate the student's work by comparing it to an original, benchmarked image.

Abstract: The present invention provides a replaceable micro-surgical instrument which comprises a pull structure and a hollow tube attached to a grip. The hollow tube has a sleeve at one end with a U-type elastic element sliding in. The U-type elastic element includes a spring tension section and two opposite extending arms and the outer edge of each arm is against the inner wall of the sleeve. Two arms could move according to the pull structure to selectively extend out of the sleeve to be opened or pull back into the sleeve to be clip together. Particularly, there is a replaceable micro-surgical element set in the front-end of each arm, so when the micro-surgical element becomes blunt or broken, the doctor could only replace the micro-surgical element without replace a whole new instrument in order to reduce instrument cost, increase replacement rate, and maintain the quality of medical surgery.

In particular, content may he automatically identified by first determining a duration during which a user will be performing an activity and determining a mood description of the activity. Characteristics of a plurality of the entertainment content that include length of each of the plurality of entertainment content and a mood description of each of the plurality of entertainment content may be retrieved from memory. The retrieved characteristics may then be compared with the duration of the activity and the mood description of the activity. Next, entertainment content from the plurality of entertainment content to be presented during the activity may be automatically selected. Finally, the entertainment content may be presented to the user.

The method may include providing, at the same time, a plurality of independent waveforms corresponding to display data for driving a plurality of segments of the display. The method may include selecting, for each segment, one of the independent driving waveforms. The method may also include determining whether an update of display data has occurred for one of the segments. The method may include selecting a different one of the waveforms to drive the segment if an update has occurred. The method may further include maintaining a currently selected waveform to drive the segment if an update has not occurred.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for utilizing multiple communication channels to determine whether a media device is nearby and whether the nearby media device is a media device associated with a user request. In some embodiments, user input devices may be equipped with IR and RF transceivers. IR signals may be used to determine whether the user input device is in the vicinity of a media device. When a user requests an application or screen sharing of a media device different from the local media device, the user input device may activate the RF transceiver to handle the communications with the other media device. In some embodiments, access to a media device may be prevented for one user when the media device is already providing access to a different user.

In response to receiving a request from the user to toggle the user interface between a user interface containing an original pull down menu and a user interface containing a modified pull down menu, the user interface is presented with the first pull down menu wherein the first pull down menu is the modified pull down menu. A user request associated with a feature presented in the first pull down menu is monitored. Values associated with requests received from a user are stored in a set of usage information. The first pull down menu is modified using the set of usage information to form a second pull down menu. The user interface containing the second pull down menu is presented to the user.

The system may include a first charge pump; a first storage capacitor coupled to the first charge pump at a first pumped voltage level; a second charge pump, including an input terminal coupled to the first storage capacitor; and a second storage capacitor coupled to a pump output terminal at the second pumped voltage level. The system may also include a controller coupled to the first and second storage capacitors, coupled to segment and common lines of an associated display; and a control circuit operating a plurality of switching devices to selectively connect the segment output terminal to the first and second storage capacitors to supply charge to the segment output terminal during a first phase and to return charge from the segment output terminal to the second storage capacitor during a second phase.
