The method may include supplying toner to a developing unit separate from a toner bottle in an image forming apparatus. The method includes: detecting a remaining amount of toner in the developing unit during printing; comparing the remaining amount of toner with a first reference value; if the remaining amount of toner is greater than the first reference value, continuing printing; and if the remaining amount of toner is not greater than the first reference value, determining whether to supply toner based on a preset mode. Deterioration of printing quality in a toner supply mode may be markedly reduced according to a user's settings.

The image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit to form an image on a recording medium, a communication unit to receive setup information related to an image forming operation from a mobile terminal, a storage unit to store data related to the image forming operation; and a controller to determine a user authority on the basis of identifier (ID) information of the mobile terminal and to store at least some parts from among the received setup information in the storage unit according to the determined user authority. The image forming apparatus receives setup information stored in the user's mobile terminal through a near field communication (NFC) scheme, such that the user can easily and quickly change setup information of the image forming apparatus.

A method of managing a security document by using an image forming apparatus including an NFC tag reader/writer may include an embodiment reading an integrated NFC tag of security paper including the integrated NFC tag by using the NFC tag reader/writer; performing a security document creation process for the security paper when a first S/N is stored in the NFC tag; and performing a security document certification process for the security document when the first S/N, a key value, and a second S/N are stored in the NFC tag.

Abstract: A color image forming apparatus and a control board included in the same are provided. The functions of an image processing unit and an engine controller are integrally implemented by a single processor on a control board. Thus, it is possible to eliminate circuit elements such as circuits associated with an interface between the image processing unit and the engine controller, which are needed when the image processing unit and the engine controller are separated. Accordingly, it is possible to efficiently design the control board and to reduce manufacturing costs.

The light scanning unit to form an electrostatic latent image corresponding to image information on a photosensitive body may include a light source, a deflector to deflect light generated from the light source in a main scanning direction, an imaging lens to focus deflected light to the photosensitive body, and at least a reflection mirror to change a traveling direction of light. A deviation of light quantity generated in a main scanning direction by a light quantity ratio generated by internal absorption of the imaging lens and a light quantity ratio generated by a polarization state of light may be compensated for by the reflection mirror.
