  • Publication number: 20070126355
Abstract: A dual emission display includes a substrate, a first light emitter, a second light emitter and a cap. The two light emitters are disposed on the substrate. The first light emitter has a first light-emitting direction. The second light emitter is adjacent to the first light emitter, and has a second light-emitting direction. The cap is located on the first emitter and the second emitter, and is separated from one of the first emitter and the second emitter by a distance ranging from about 1 ?m to 100 ?m.

  • Publication number: 20070126346
Abstract: A dual emission display includes a first substrate whose upper surface has a first organic light emitting diode, a second substrate whose lower surface has a second organic light emitting diode, and the second substrate is on the first substrate. A stress buffer layer fills the gap between the first substrate and the second substrate, and is used to package the first organic light emitting diode to the first substrate and to package the second organic light emitting diode to the second substrate.

  • Publication number: 20070120478
Abstract: A double-sided display module has a hermetic seal and an electrical connector disposed between the two display sub-modules. The seal can be structured or shaped to have a predetermined height so as to maintain a gap between the display sub-modules approximately between 1 and 100 ?m. The seal can also have a thickness control medium made of polymers to achieve the desirable gap and an adhesive disposed over the thickness control medium for sealing. The thickness control medium and the adhesive can be made of different materials or of the same material. The thickness control medium can be shaped as a continuous spacer or a plurality of discrete spacers. The thickness control medium can be disposed on the substrates and cured to its final form before the adhesive is applied to form the hermetic seal, for example.

  • Publication number: 20070064173
Abstract: A double-sided liquid crystal display (LCD) capable of displaying double frames on both faces thereof is provided. The backlight of the double-sided LCD is a module of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). The module of OLEDs is composed of multiple top-emission OLEDs and multiple bottom-emission OLEDs. The top-emission OLEDs and the bottom-emission OLEDs are alternatively arranged in the module of OLEDs.

  • Publication number: 20050184661
Abstract: Methods and devices are disclosed for detecting undesired moisture for a luminescence display device. A moisture detector is encapsulated between two shields with one or more display elements, and has a layer of metal placed in a predetermined location close to the display elements that does not affect an operation thereof, wherein the undesired moisture is detected by monitoring one or more moisture-affected material characteristics thereof.
