  • Publication number: 20240169101
Abstract: A transceiver device security system includes a computing device and a transceiver device that is locked for use with computing device(s) in transceiver device use group(s). The transceiver device generates challenge information in response to connecting to the computing device, and causes an interrupt to be transmitted to the computing device to cause it to retrieve the challenge information. Subsequently, the transceiver device receives an encrypted response communication from the computing device that is encrypted with a transceiver device use group private key associated with one of the transceiver device use group(s), and decrypts it with a transceiver device use group public key associated with the one of the transceiver device use group(s) to generate a decrypted response communication. If the transceiver device determines that response information in the decrypted response communication matches the challenge information, it unlocks the transceiver device for use with the computing device.

  • Publication number: 20240171388
Abstract: A service platform/transceiver device locking system include a transceiver device that disables its data communication operations during an initialization operation and generates challenge information, and a platform device that retrieves that challenge information. The platform device uses a service platform private key to encrypt the challenge information, and provides the encrypted challenge information and a service-platform-provider-private-key-signed service platform public key to the transceiver device. The transceiver device uses a service platform provider public key to verify a service platform public key in the service-platform-provider-private-key-signed service platform public key to produce a verified service platform public key that it uses to decrypt the encrypted challenge information to produce decrypted challenge information.

  • Publication number: 20240106425
Abstract: A delay-locked loop (DLL) circuit includes a low pass filter coupled to a phase detector, and a digitally controlled delay line (DCDL) coupled to the low pass filter. The DCDL includes an input terminal, an output terminal coupled to an input terminal of the phase detector, and stages that propagate a signal along a first path from the input terminal to a selectable return stage and along a second path from the return stage to the output terminal. Each stage includes first and second inverters that selectively propagate the signal along the first and second paths, a third inverter that selectively propagates the signal from the first path to the second path, and either fourth and fifth inverters that selectively propagate the signal along the first and second paths, or a sixth inverter that selectively propagates the signal from the first path to the second path.

  • Publication number: 20240014856
Abstract: Presented herein are embodiments of a compact handheld integrated cabling assist (CHICA) device that has a form factor of a transceiver. In one or more embodiments, a CHICA embodiment may pair with a cabling assist application (CA-App) to guide a user with cabling decisions. A user may insert a transceiver (optic/DAC) in a mini-cage of the CHICA, wherein the CHICA reads the transceiver data, transmits the data to the CA-App to confirm that the transceiver meets the configuration requirements of the switch port. In one or more embodiments, a user may also interact with the CA-App to write data (e.g., EEPROM fields) to the transceiver by issuing commands via the CHICA device.

  • Publication number: 20230105893
Abstract: Systems and methods for validating transceivers comprise using a first controller to perform a validation prior to granting a second controller access to the transceiver to communicate in a data plane and, otherwise, restricting the second controller from accessing the transceiver and operating in the data plane to isolate the transceiver from the data plane and protect the second controller from an unqualified or rogue transceiver triggering a recovery procedure, reboot procedure, or similar that otherwise would require manual intervention by technical support personnel and increase equipment downtime and cost.

  • Patent number: 11567819
Abstract: A fabric connection assist system includes a networking device coupled to a fabric management system and a mobile device via a network. The networking device receives fabric connection information for its port from the fabric management system. When the mobile device subsequently identifies that port to the networking device, the networking device identifies fabric connection components to the mobile device that are indicated by the fabric connection information as being supported by its port. When the mobile device subsequently identifies a first of the fabric connection components to the networking device, and the networking device then detects that the first fabric connection component has been connected to its port, the networking device transmits a first fabric connection component confirmation communication to the mobile device that is configured to display a confirmation on the mobile device of the connection of the first fabric connection component to its port.

  • Patent number: 10673701
Abstract: A system includes a first device having a first physical layer transceiver (PHY) and a first port that is coupled to the first PHY and that operates in a mode. The system also includes a second device having a second PHY and a second port that is coupled to the second PHY and that operates in a mode. The second device provides, through the second port via a cable coupled to the first port to the first device and prior to advertising the at least one mode that the second port is configured to operate in, a second PHY ability of the second PHY. The second device receives a first PHY ability of the first PHY and determines that a mismatch exists between the first and second PHY abilities. In response to the mismatch, the second device adjusts the operation of the second PHY to correct the mismatch.

  • Patent number: 10125921
Abstract: A mount assembly for releasably receiving a mounting cleat includes a top housing portion, a bottom housing portion, and a recess in the top housing portion to receive the mounting cleat. The mount assembly further includes a biasing device connected to housing portions such that the biasing device exerts a force upon the top housing portion which tends to return the top housing portion to an unrotated position relative to the bottom housing portion. The mount assembly further includes a first clasp mechanism and a second clasp mechanism at least partially disposed within the top housing portion extendable into the recess to clasp the mounting cleat when the top housing portion is in the unrotated position. Finally, the mount assembly includes a locking mechanism configured to temporarily prevent rotation of the top housing portion relative to the bottom housing portion when the locking mechanism is in a locked position.

  • Patent number: 9942172
Abstract: Aspects of the current patent document include systems and methods to improve configuration of network communication links between devices. In embodiments, a device may attempt auto-negotiation with another device in which transmit power levels are increased in an attempted to establish the link. In embodiments, an approach to establishing a link comprises setting the device in static mode but enabling link training. In yet another embodiment, a hybrid approach to interfaces link up may comprise having auto-negotiation with increasing transmit power attempts enabled by default, followed by static mode link up with link training enabled, in the case the auto-negotiation fails.
