  • Patent number: 10600432
Abstract: A system configured to perform power normalization for voice enhancement. The system may identify active intervals corresponding to voice activity and may selectively amplify the active intervals in order to generate output audio data at a near uniform loudness. The system may determine a variable gain for each of the active intervals based on a desired output loudness and a flatness value, which indicates how much a signal envelope is to be modified. For example, a low flatness value corresponds to no modification, with peak active interval values corresponding to the desired output loudness and lower active intervals being lower than the desired output loudness. In contrast, a high flatness value corresponds to extensive modification, with peak active interval values and lower active interval values both corresponding to the desired output loudness. Thus, individual words may share the same peak power level.

  • Patent number: 10201746
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the detection, analysis, and identification of realistic human body and limb movements during sports actions for multiple uses comprises collecting the health information of the move, using the moves as a training and monitoring techniques in live usage settings, and as inputs to simulators and video game environments. At least one body-worn sensor transmits values wirelessly to a computing device that records the moves and calculates the health statistics then uses a machine-learning algorithm to analyze and identify the moves. These algorithms then output information and can simulate realistic moves, identify how far from these realistic moves the actual move is, and apply these moves to an electronic game. These algorithms, through various techniques, can distinguish movements, identify many different fine-grain movements, and enforce the full completion of these moves before registering them, thus preventing cheating in a realistic gaming scenario.

  • Patent number: 10149782
Abstract: This invention provides an oral interface mainly including a connecting channel, a collapsible chamber and a non-collapsible structure disposed inside the collapsible chamber. The connecting channel communicates between the collapsible chamber and a negative source. When a negative pressure environment is generated inside the collapsible chamber via being pumped by the negative pressure source, the non-collapsible structure supports the collapsible chamber so that there are fluid channels formed inside the collapsible chamber. The air inside a user's oral cavity can be pumped out via the fluid channels and the connecting channel. A negative pressure environment is hence formed inside the user's oral cavity.

  • Patent number: 10149783
Abstract: This invention provides an oral apparatus and method capable of alleviating or curing snore and obstructive sleep apnea by applying a negative pressure through a mini oral interface to the oral cavity. The mini oral interface creates a secure connection between the interface and mouth or teeth and prevents the interface from falling off. The oral interface also provides fixation between upper and lower lips (or tooth) and prevents opening of patient's mouth during sleeping. The negative pressure pulls the tongue toward upper palate and also pulls the soft palate forward as well. By moving the tongue and the soft palate in a forward direction, the patentcy of the upper airway near the pharynx is maintained to prevent sleep-disordered breathing. The negative pressure will pull the lips inward to close the mouth ad prevent air from entering the oral cavity from atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 10115411
Abstract: A system configured to improve speech quality by performing residual echo suppression (RES). The system may detect when double-talk conditions are present in individual frequency bands during a voice conversation and may determine gain values for the individual frequency bands. The system may determine whether double-talk conditions are present based on a normalized cross power spectral density function in a frequency domain. If double-talk conditions are present in a frequency band or far end energy is low, the system may determine a gain value that passes audio data in the frequency band, whereas if double-talk conditions are not present, the system may determine a gain value that attenuates audio data in the frequency band. The system may determine binary gain values using a decision threshold value or continuous gain values using a mapping function. The system may control an amount of suppression by selecting different mapping functions and/or parameters.

  • Patent number: 10103161
Abstract: Die cracking of a three dimensional memory device may be reduced by adding offsets to backside contact via structures. Each backside contact via structure can include laterally extending portions that extend along a first horizontal direction adjoined by adjoining portions that extend along a horizontal direction other than the first horizontal direction. In order to preserve periodicity of memory stack structures extending through an alternating stack of insulating layers and electrically conductive layers, the distance between an outermost row of a string of memory stack structures between a pair of backside contact via structures and a most proximal backside contact via structure can vary from a laterally extending portion to another laterally extending portion within the most proximal backside contact via structure. Source shunt lines that are parallel to bit lines can be formed over a selected subset of offset portions of the backside contact via structures.

  • Patent number: 10014316
Abstract: Memory openings and support openings can be formed through an alternating stack of insulating layers and sacrificial material layers. A set of dielectric layers and at least one semiconductor material layer can be sequentially deposited in each of the memory openings and the support openings. The at least one semiconductor material layer is removed from inside the support openings, while the at least one semiconductor material layer is not removed from inside the memory openings. Memory stack structures and support pillar structures are formed in the memory openings and the support openings, respectively. The sacrificial material layers are replaced with electrically conductive layers.
