  • Patent number: 5290073
Abstract: An expansion seal for sealing pipe through which electrical cables are arranged to pass comprises an elastic ring, a plurality of upper clamping plates and a plurality of lower clamping plates each preferably of plastics or rubber material. The elastic ring is supported between a plurality of the upper and lower clamping plates, at the circumference of this elastic ring having a slit to allow insertion of cable therein and to cover the cable easily. The elastic ring and cable is locatable in a cable pipe and fixed at one end of the cable pipe by screw bolts. When the bolts are tightened addition a compressive force on the upper clamping plates the elastic ring extends inwardly to fill the space between the inner wall of the elastic ring and cable and outwardly to fill the space between the elastic sealing ring and inner surface of the cable pipe, to prevent liquid, mud and moisture from entering into the cable pipe.

  • Patent number: 5044403
Abstract: A pipe plug of the type including a tie plate having a threaded bolt extending upward from a stepped circular base for mounted an elastic seal ring, a wedge ring and a cone permitting the cone to rotate on the threaded bolt to force the wedge ring to squeeze the seal ring to extend outward for sealing a tubing. The upper step of the stepped circular base of the tie plate is inserted in the seal ring when the seal ring is mounted on the lower step of the stepped circular base so that the seal ring can only be stretched outward.

  • Patent number: 5035265
Abstract: A pipe plug for sealing the orifice of a pipe, which can be operated through one hand and is comprised of a fastening element, an elastic rubber band, a pressure plate and a lifting eye. The rubber band has rubber pins upstanding from its top surface and set in the grooves of the pressure plate to rub against the edge of a pipe for the positioning of the pressure plate so that the pipe plug can be conveniently operated with one single hand to squeeze the rubber band to expand and to further tightly seal the orifice of the pipe into which the pipe plug is inserted.

  • Patent number: 4842364
Abstract: The plug is disposable around a fiber optic cable in an innerduct to form the present assembly. The plug releasably seals the cable and innerduct against ingress of mud, dirt, water, grit and other foreign substances. The plug includes upper and lower rigid compression plates positioned, respectively, immediately above and below a flexible, resilient tubular gasket having an upper circular flange. The lower compression plate has two or more spaced vertical curved arms disposed in a circle around a central vertical cable-receiving passageway and extending up from the plate through slots in the gasket and upper compression plate. The arms are threaded externally and hae an internally threaded collar screwed down thereover. The collar, upper plate and flange seat over theopen end of an innerduct bearing the cable. the lower compression plate and gasket (except for the flange) are in the innerduct. The gasket, upper and lower compression plates and collar have aligned cable-receiving vertical passageways.
