Abstract: A face recognition apparatus and method using plural face images includes detecting a reference face image from an image input for registration in advance, calculating plural face feature information from a frontal face image if the detected reference face image includes the frontal face image, generating plural compared face images using the calculated plural face feature information, and determining whether the input face image matches the generated plural compared face images by comparing the input face image with the plural compared face images. Face images having diverse points of view are generated through single user registration, and thus the face recognition ratio can be heightened.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and a method for generating an image including multiple people, in which images are photographed, face images are detected from each of the photographed images, a face score for each of the face images detected from the photographed images is calculated, it is determined whether each of the face scores calculated for each of the face images is at least equal to a predetermined threshold, and each of face images having a highest face score for each of the face images is synthesized, to output the synthesized image as a final image, in order to generate a most satisfactory photographed image for a user.

Under the state that a collage image generated by combining a plurality of image elements corresponding respectively to a plurality of media contents is displayed, if a selection input is generated on the collage image, a preview window for a media content corresponding to a location of a point where the selection input is generated is configured to overlay the preview window on the collage image. Abstract: A facial image registration apparatus and method are provided for registering a plurality of facial images to be used for face recognition. A plurality of facial images are detected and sorted from a plurality of captured images input from a camera unit at the request of a user. A face feature value is calculated for each of the facial images. The face feature value is a score that is applied according to face features of each of the facial images. Facial images selected according to the calculated face feature values are registered as target facial images to be used for face recognition. As such, various facial images may be registered at a user's single request, thus improving a face recognition rate.
