Publication number: 20130024065Abstract: An autonomous electronic device and a method of controlling the motion of the autonomous electronic device thereof are disclosed. The autonomous electronic device includes a motor, a wheel, a processing module, a motor controlling module, and a motion sensor module. The motor is used for driving the wheel. The motor controlling module is used for controlling the motor. The motion sensor module is used for generating a sensing signal according to surrounding conditions encountered by the autonomous electronic device and transferring the signal to the processing module, wherein when the sensing signal is an abnormal movement signal, the processing module controls the motor to adapt to the surrounding conditions via the motor controlling module according to the abnormal movement signal.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2011Publication date: January 24, 2013Inventors: Hung-Chih Chiu, Chung-Hsien Chuang, Chi-Shing Lin, Harry Chia-Hung Hsu

Patent number: 8249797Abstract: A positioning system includes a positioning module, an application program, a control program, a first transmission interface, a second transmission interface and a switch module. The positioning module is for providing positioning information. The application program is for controlling the positioning module to receive the positioning information from the positioning module. The control program is for controlling the positioning module to receive the positioning information from the positioning module when the application program is shutdown. The application program receives the positioning information through the first transmission interface. The control program receives the positioning information through the second transmission interface. The switch module can be selectively switched to decide whether the positioning module is controlled by the application program or the control program to receive the positioning information.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2007Date of Patent: August 21, 2012Assignee: Mitac International Corp.Inventor: Chung-Hsien Chuang

Patent number: 7881363Abstract: A data transmission rate adjustment system and method thereof comprise a driving module and a control module. The driving module performs a predetermined mathematical calculation based on a transmission rate request to generate a divisor. The control module then performs a division that divides a reference frequency by the divisor to generate a first transmission rate so that a data receiving terminal can receive data sent from a data sending terminal through the driving module based on the first transmission rate. The driving module monitors a transmission error rate of the data received by the data receiving terminal. If the transmission error rate exceeds a predetermined value, the divisor is automatically adjusted to generate a second transmission rate. The second transmission rate is also provided to replace the first transmission rate.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2007Date of Patent: February 1, 2011Assignee: Mitac International Corp.Inventor: Chung-Hsien Chuang

Patent number: 7809504Abstract: A power management method is applicable to an electronic device having GPS navigation software and a GPS module for executing the navigation software. First, the data storage power (i.e. the RTC power) is enabled when the electronic device is powered on, and whether the electronic device receive an external power is detected; if yes, the master power (i.e. the RF power) is enabled and the GPS module is enabled to perform an initialization process and continue detecting whether the electronic device receives an external power; it no, the master power is disabled and detecting whether the electronic device receives an external power continues. Compared with the prior art, the power management method of the present invention, by managing powers installed in the electronic device and corresponding to the GPS module, increases the possibility for the navigation software to enter the hot start mode, and advances user's convenience.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 2007Date of Patent: October 5, 2010Assignee: Mitac International CorporationInventor: Chung-Hsien Chuang

Publication number: 20080027630Abstract: A positioning system with a switching function includes a positioning information receiving module, a wireless signal receiving module, a transmission interface and a switching module. The positioning information receiving module is for receiving positioning information. A wireless signal receiving module is for receiving a wireless signal. The transmission interface is connected to a central processor of a positioning apparatus. The switching module is connected to the transmission interface and is for receiving a control signal in order to selectively switch a first state or a second state. When the switching module is at the first state, the transmission interface receives the positioning information transmitted by the positioning information receiving module through the switching module. When the switching module is at the second state, the transmission interface receives the wireless signal transmitted by the wireless signal receiving module through the switching module.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 26, 2007Publication date: January 31, 2008Inventor: Chung-Hsien Chuang
