  • Publication number: 20190024158
Abstract: The present invention provides nucleic acid amplification systems and methods that desirably reduce or eliminate false positive amplification signals resulting from contaminating biological material, e.g., nucleic acid, that may be present in one or more reagents used in an amplification reaction and/or that may be present in the environment in which an amplification reaction is performed. The invention offers the further advantage of requiring less stringent purification and/or sterility efforts than conventionally needed in order to ensure that enzymes and other reagents used in amplification reactions, and the environment in which an amplification reaction is performed, are free of bacterial or other nucleic acid contamination that may yield false positive results.

  • Publication number: 20180181774
Abstract: A private key of a public-private key pair with a corresponding identity is written to an integrated circuit including a processor, a non-volatile memory, and a cryptographic engine coupled to the processor and the non-volatile memory. The private key is written to the non-volatile memory. The integrated circuit is implemented in complementary metal-oxide semiconductor 14 nm or smaller technology. The integrated circuit is permanently modified, subsequent to the writing, such that further writing to the non-volatile memory is disabled and such that the private key can be read only by the cryptographic engine and not off-chip. Corresponding integrated circuits and wafers are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9503674
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for performing video recorder failover. In a particular embodiment, a system for handing a failover of a first Network Video Recorder (NVR) is provided. The system includes a second NVR that receives a video stream and temporarily stores an amount of the video stream to the temporary storage, wherein the amount of the video stream stored in the temporary storage at any given time corresponds to a duration of time sufficient to accommodate a failover of the first NVR to the second NVR. In response to a detection of a failure of the first NVR, the second NVR records the video stream to the second long-term storage and transfers at least a portion of the video stream stored in the temporary storage to the second long-term storage.

  • Patent number: 9423793
Abstract: The present invention relates to control, monitoring, and automation. The present invention more specifically relates to pattern-based intelligent control, monitoring and automation. The invention performs pattern-based monitoring. It collects signal data from one or more signals. The signal data define signal data streams. It then transforms each of the signal data streams into trends. It also discovers patterns based on the trends within each signal data stream and/or across the signal data streams. The patterns are optionally used for diagnostics and root cause analysis, online plant monitoring and operation control, plant optimization, and other environments where a causal link or correlation may exist between related inputs, states and/or outputs.

  • Publication number: 20150232920
Abstract: Method of detecting methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) and methicillin-sensitive S. aureus (MSSA) in a nucleic acid coamplification assay. The invention advantageously reduces the incidence of false-positive MRSA determinations in real-time assays by requiring satisfaction of a threshold criterion that excludes certain co-infections from the MRSA determination. The invention further provides for determination of MSSA, even when the MSSA is present in combination with methicillin-resistant coagulase-negative (MR-CoNS) bacteria at high or low levels.

  • Patent number: 8928727
Abstract: The subject technology discloses configurations for receiving input device data via an unreliable data channel from a first computing device in which the input device data includes keyboard data, mouse input data and/or touch and gesture data from the first computing device. The subject technology determines a host client computing device among one or more second computing devices in a multiway video conference for receiving the input device data. Further, the subject technology transmits the input device data via a second unreliable data channel to the determined host client computing device, where the input device data is transmitted on a separate data channel from any video or audio data transmitted to the host client computing device.
