  • Patent number: 8401017
Abstract: An enhanced RLC STATUS PDU format is used in a wireless communication network in which a sender transmits AMD PDUs to a receiver, and the receiver responds a STATUS PDU. In the STATUS PDU, an ACK_SN field is provided for indicating the SN of a next not received AMD PDU which is not reported as missing in the STATUS PDU, and an E1 field is provided for indicating whether a set of NACK_SN, E1, and E2 fields follows or not. The NACK_SN field indicates a AMD PDU that has been detected as lost at the receiver. The E2 field indicates whether a set of SOstart, SOend, and E2 fields follows or not. The SOstart field indicates the first byte in the AMD PDU with SN=NACK_SN that has been detected as lost. The SOend field indicates the last byte in the AMD PDU with SN=NACK_SN that has been detected as lost.

  • Patent number: 8031668
Abstract: In a method for optimizing discontinuous reception mechanism in random access or scheduling request, the user equipment behaves according to a TTI window and a contention resolution timer so that the user equipment is at active time to monitor PDCCH. In the random access, the UE is at active time while a PDCCH indicating a new transmission addressed to the C-RNTI of the UE has not been received after successful reception of a Random Access Response for the non-contention preamble. In the scheduling request, the UE is at active time while an UL grant for the UE has not been received after SR has been sent.

  • Publication number: 20100281486
Abstract: System and method for enhancing scheduling/priority handling and multiplexing on transmitting data of different logical channels includes a receiver and a processor. The receiver receives a payload unit. The processor processes payload unit and enhances scheduling/priority handling and multiplex from different logical channels. The processor calculates data that can be transmitted with available resource for each logical channel, prioritizes the logical channels with decreasing priority order, performs first round resource allocation without partition, prioritizes logical channels with remaining data that is not performed with first round resource allocation with strict decreasing priority order, and performs second round resource allocation with partition. As such, scheduling/priority handling and the multiplexing in a multiple carrier system will be carried out so as to increase the efficiency of resource allocation.

  • Patent number: 7769926
Abstract: A method for providing a buffer status report in a mobile communication network is implemented between a base station and a user equipment. When data arrives to buffers of the user equipment and the priority of a logical channel for the data is higher than those of other logical channels for existing data in the buffers, a short buffer status report associated with the buffer of a logical channel group corresponding to the arrival data is triggered. The user equipment is based on obtained resources allocated by the base station to fill all data of the buffer of the logical channel group in a Protocol Data Unit. If all data of the buffer of the logical channel group corresponding to the arrival data can be completely filled in the Protocol Data Unit, the short buffer status report is canceled. Otherwise, the user equipment transmits the short buffer status report.

  • Publication number: 20090175253
Abstract: A frame format for random access response of wireless communication transmission is provided. The frame format comprises a header segment and a variable length data segment. The header segment includes one or more random access response subheader and 0 to N load control subheader. The variable length data segment including one or more random access response data payload corresponding to the one or more random access response subheader. The one or more random access response subheader includes a status indication field to represent a last random access response subheader, a load control subheader, a random access response data payload with a T-CRNTI field, or a random access response data payload without a T-CRNTI field.
