  • Publication number: 20030156908
Abstract: The present invention provides a soil-retaining wall of recycled tires by ecological constructing method; for preventing downward travel of earth and gravel, a great number of recycled tires are superposed longitudinally and latitudinally as well as moored by cables or soft steel reinforcing bars; concrete is poured into the waste tires; gaps between the adjacent tires are filled with shreds of tires and gravel; the accomplished soil-retaining wall has good draining and buffering functions and is endurable; the friction area on the bottom portion thereof is large and not easy to be pushed to slide; therefore, the structure is capable of efficiently eliminating the occurrence of downward travel of earth and gravel on mountainside.

  • Patent number: 6558076
Abstract: The present invention relates to a flow permeable port embankment, mainly constructed by multiple waste tires which are arranged in a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction. The port embankment includes multiple vertically arranged tires and multiple horizontally arranged tires that are combined with each other by fastening of cables. The horizontally arranged tires are poured with concrete. The port embankment can use a wave energy reduction device of central holes of the multiple vertically arranged tires, so that when a big wave or surge rushes into the port embankment through the central holes of the vertically arranged tires, the energy thereof is counteracted naturally and completely, so that the region in the port embankment is calm, thereby preventing ships in the port embankment from hitting each other.

  • Patent number: 5526763
Abstract: An artificial reef structure includes a floating platform formed by a number of buoy units combined together and a large number of vertically extending rows of waste tires secured to an under side of the platform to extend to any desired depth and assume any desired configuration. The resiliency of the tires allows the artificial reef structure to be used as a fender, the ring or donut shape of the tires provides cavities in which fish and other sea creatures may breed and feed, and the bulky volume of the reef structure that is formed by the great number of waste tires serves to break up tides and waves and thus protect the seashore and pier and jetty from being damaged by strong tides and waves.
