  • Patent number: 10372831
Abstract: The disclosed subject matter provides a system, computer readable storage medium, and a method providing an audio and textual transcript of a communication. A conferencing services may receive audio or audio visual signals from a plurality of different devices that receive voice communications from participants in a communication, such as a chat or teleconference. The audio signals representing voice (speech) communications input into respective different devices by the participants. A translation services server may receive over a separate communication channel the audio signals for translation into a second language. As managed by the translation services server, the audio signals may be converted into textual data. The textual data may be translated into text of different languages based the language preferences of the end user devices in the teleconference. The translated text may be further translated into audio signals.

  • Publication number: 20140358516
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer-readable storage medium, that include receiving a first audio signal from a first client communication device. A transcription of the first audio signal is then generated. Next, the transcription is translated. Then a second audio signal is generated from the translation. And then the following are communicated to a second client communication device: (i) the first audio signal received from the first device; and (2) the second audio signal generated from the translation of the transcription of the first audio signal received from the first client communication device.

  • Publication number: 20090285123
Abstract: Channels between routers for use in packet routing via payload inspection. The channels constitute logical connections between routers and include subjects and attributes. Publishers create channels for routing particular types of content as defined by the subjects and attributes. The publishers also create proxies and notifications on the channels. The channel definitions for routers identify packet or message structures so that the routers can locate attributes in the packets for content-based routing. The routers apply the packet attributes to filters encapsulating subscriptions in order to perform the content-based routing in the network core. The routers also locally cache content, providing distributed caching of content throughout the network core.

  • Patent number: 7376092
Abstract: A method and apparatus provide for persistent caching of methods delivered via a publish-subscribe network. At a first node, a message having data via the network is received. The data is time-marked. The data is cached in a cache memory at the first node. The message is routed to a second node using content-based routing. These steps are repeated at a second node. A router that includes modules for executing this method is provided. A publish-subscribe network that includes nodes that include modules for executing this method is provided. A computer-readable medium that includes instructions for executing this method is provided.

  • Publication number: 20040083305
Abstract: Packet routing via payload inspection at routers in a core of a distributed network for use in providing alert services. Packets include subjects and attributes in addition to routing information. The subjects correspond with particular types of content for subscriptions, and the attributes encapsulate the data or content, which can include video clips from cameras at particular locations. The routers store filters corresponding with subscriptions to content. Upon receiving a packet, a router inspects the payload section of the packet containing the attributes in order to retrieve the attributes and apply them to the filters for the subscriptions to content from the cameras. If an attribute satisfies a filter, the packet is routed to the next link. If the attributes do not satisfy the filters, the router discards the packet. These routing decisions are distributed among routers in the network core.

  • Publication number: 20040078450
Abstract: Packet routing via payload inspection at routers in a core of a distributed network for use in distributing digital content such as video, music, and software. Packets include subjects and attributes in addition to routing information. The subjects correspond with particular types of content for subscriptions, and the attributes encapsulate the data or content, which can include video, music, or software such as software updates. The routers store filters corresponding with subscriptions to content. Upon receiving a packet, a router inspects the payload section of the packet containing the attributes in order to retrieve the attributes and apply them to the filters for the subscriptions to the digital content. If an attribute satisfies a filter, the packet is routed to the next link. If the attributes do not satisfy the filters, the router discards the packet. These routing decisions are distributed among routers in the network core.

  • Patent number: 6501549
Abstract: A method and associated apparatus for measuring chemical concentration in a liquid sample based on spatial separation and resolution of light is disclosed. The method is preferably applied to sensitive, quantitative, luminescence-based biosensors which reads the analyte concentration via spatial distribution of the emitted light. The detection of light is used to assess the spatial position, rather than the intensity or wavelength, of emitted light. A bioluminescent or chemiluminescent reaction requiring, for example, ATP, NADPH or NADH as a specific, and sensitive co-factor is used. ATP or NADH concentration is modulated, “tuned,” and/or regulated via, for example, an enzyme which consumes (“consumase”) ATP, NADPH, or NADH, thereby producing a spatial distribution of ATP or NADH and a spatial distribution in the emitted light.
