    Abstract: The present application provides a negative electrode material, a preparation method therefor and a lithium-ion battery. The negative electrode material includes silicon oxide and a compound of metal M. The compound of metal M includes at least one of an oxide of metal M and a silicate of metal M. The metal M is at least one metal with an electronegativity less than 1.8. An amount of gas produced by the negative electrode material of 10 g, which is mixed with a hydrochloric acid of 10 mL and a concentration of 1 mol/L, is less than or equal to 1 mL. The negative electrode material and the preparation method therefor provided by the present application may reduce the volume expansion of the negative electrode material, improve the rate performance and cycling stability of the negative electrode material.

    Abstract: The subject invention is concerned with systems and methods advantageously applying finite element analysis to establish design rules for a highly sensitive piezo-resistive pressure sensor with an output that is high enough to be detectable by simple and inexpensive circuits and therefore ensure wearability. Four frequently reported micro-feature shapes in micro-patterned piezo-resistive sensors are provided, where the micro-dome and micro-pyramid yield the highest sensitivity. Investigations of different conductivity values of micro-patterned elastomers show that coating the elastomer with a conductive material (e.g., a metallic coating) leads to higher current response when compared to composited conductive elastomers. Advantageous geometric parameters and spatial configurations of micro-pyramid design of piezo-resistive sensors are provided.

    Abstract: A method for estimating the strength of a laser welded blank including a first blank and a second blank joined together by a weld seam. The method may include forming a plurality of indentations in the first blank, the second blank, and the weld seam to determine an average value of a micro-hardness (Vickers); determining a scale-up ratio K; multiplying the scale-up ratio K by the average values of the micro-hardness of each of the first blank, the second blank, and the weld seam to obtain a scaled-up average value of the microhardness of each of the first blank, the second blank, and the weld seam; running a finite elemental analysis (FEA) simulation using the scaled-up average values of the microhardness; and based on the results of the simulation, determining whether the strength of the laser welded blank is sufficient to withstand being subjected to a forming process.
