Patent number: 11578342Abstract: The disclosure discloses recombinant Bacillus subtilis for synthesizing guanosine diphosphate fucose and a construction method and application thereof. The recombinant Bacillus subtilis is obtained by intensively expressing guanylate kinase and nucleotide diphosphokinase genes and expressing exogenous fucokinase and phosphate guanylyltransferase genes in a genome of Bacillus subtilis 168. According to the disclosure, a bacterial strain for synthesizing the guanosine diphosphate fucose is obtained by reconstructing the Bacillus subtilis 168, with a volume of intracellular accumulation up to 196.15 g/L. According to the disclosure, by intensively expressing the guanylate kinase and nucleotide diphosphokinase genes, and enhancing the supply of intracellular GDP-L-fucose composition cofactors, the synthesis of the guanosine diphosphate fucose is promoted. The construction method for the recombinant Bacillus subtilis of the disclosure is simple and convenient to use, thus having good application prospects.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2020Date of Patent: February 14, 2023Assignees: BRIGHT DAIRY & FOOD CO., LTD., Jiangnan UniversityInventors: Long Liu, Jian Chen, Guocheng Du, Jieying Deng, Chunmei Chen, Xueqin Lv, Jianghua Li

Patent number: 11577827Abstract: An unmanned aircraft capable of vertical takeoff, vertical landing, and/or flight in a hovering orientation is presented; its fixed-wing is positively-swept and of low aspect-ratio with suitable airfoils. The unmanned aircraft includes a thruster comprising two contra-rotating motors and propellers forward of the fixed-wing's leading-edge and a rudderless fin aft of the center-of-mass, all of which lie on the aircraft's plane-of-symmetry. Two elevons provide pitch and roll control. The unmanned aircraft can stand upright on its feet. A control system for aircraft with at least one wing is also presented. The control system includes a mount and attached thruster which lie on the plane-of-symmetry forward of the fixed-wing's leading-edge. A hinge axis approximately perpendicular to the aircraft's horizontal plane passes through the mount. The thruster rotates about the hinge axis for aircraft yaw control.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2019Date of Patent: February 14, 2023Inventors: Ryan M. Randall, Chunmei Chen

Publication number: 20220212779Abstract: Adaptive wing systems and aircraft. A variable-span wing for aircraft comprises a fixed-section (1) with skin (118) that forms a lift-generating wing surface, and further comprises a top and a bottom moveable section (2) that are vertically offset from one-another and which translate in substantially lateral directions into and out of the fixed-section (1) through fixed-section tip-openings (126). The moveable sections (2) overlap inside of the fixed-section (1) when fully retracted. The wing also comprises at least two tracks (310,316) and track-mating parts (320). The track-mating parts (320) are attached near the roots of the moveable sections (2) and translate along the tracks (310,316) to guide the moveable sections (2). A non-overlapped wing with motors (331) that translate with the moveable sections (2) and which have attached gear heads (332). A rack (341) is located within the fixed section (1). Rotation of the gear heads (332) against the rack (341) causes the moveable sections (2) to translate.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 26, 2019Publication date: July 7, 2022Applicant: RANDALL AERODYNAMIC ENGINEERING, GUANGZHOU, LLCInventors: Ryan Michael RANDALL, Chunmei CHEN

Patent number: 11136110Abstract: A pitch control system characterized by a hub with at least two blade housings on the hub that are disposed around the hub axis. The blade housings have corresponding blades that engage with them. The blades spiral along housing longitudinal axes toward and away from the hub axis about a segment of helical path to effect a change in the pitch of each blade. One or more elastic members draw the blades toward the hub axis, either directly or indirectly. There are pitch mechanisms effective to facilitate blades to spiral around housing-longitudinal axes. A blade will spiral away from the hub axis when the centrifugal force exerted on the blade exceeds the opposing elastic force in the housing-longitudinal direction (neglecting other forces). Conversely, blades spiral toward the hub axis when said centrifugal force is less than said elastic force. There is an imaginary plane orthogonal to the hub axis. Housing-longitudinal axes have angles with respect to the imaginary plane of not more than 30 degrees.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2018Date of Patent: October 5, 2021Inventors: Ryan M. Randall, Chunmei Chen

Patent number: 10711804Abstract: An air purifier system characterized by a housing, a fan, and a motor, as well as a docking ring located at the outer edge of the inlet side of the air purifier system, a seat below the housing, a prefilter or barrier upstream of the fan, and a filter downstream of the fan. An air purifier system characterized by an upstream-to-downstream airflow path that includes an axial fan, a diffuser, and a filter, in that relative order, with an electric motor held along the centerline of the housing by one or more supports and/or guide vanes. A docking ring that facilitates attachment of a screen-like, mesh-like, cloth-like, or paper-like filter to a machine capable of air purification, characterized by having a large hole through which air passes and by attachment to the machine utilizing any tongue and groove system, for which installation and removal of the docking ring is achieved, in whole or in part, by rotation of said docking ring relative to the machine.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2018Date of Patent: July 14, 2020Assignee: QINGDAO RANDALL AERODYNAMICS ENGINEERING LLCInventors: Chunmei Chen, Ryan Michael Randall

Publication number: 20110073132Abstract: The invention presents a Dental Floss Bow to solve existent flossing problems. The Dental Floss Bow grips dental floss by adjusting the clearance gap between Taper Hole Body and Cone Body, which is achieved by thread engagement between Grip Nut and Taper Hole Body (which has male thread at one end). The Dental Floss Bow can also tension dental floss by a Tension Nut, which pulls the Taper Hole Body and Cone Body together. With the functions of gripping and tensioning the invention is simple to operate, handy and effective. A Floss Bin is integrated into the invention.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 15, 2010Publication date: March 31, 2011Inventor: CHUNMEI CHEN
