  • Publication number: 20150252497
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for drafting spun yarns in three stages. The method comprises drafting fiber strips to obtain fiber strands in the first-stage draft zone, drafting fiber strands to obtain non-discrete fiber bands without twist distribution in the second-stage draft zone, and drafting fiber bands to obtain twist less fiber assemblies in the third-stage draft zone. The present invention can significantly improve the maximum total draft ratio to obtain twist less fiber assemblies with good evenness and can help improve the quality of resultant yarns.

  • Publication number: 20150252496
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and spinning device for drafting single yarns. The method comprises drafting fiber strands into twistless fiber strands, bringing a primary twist action upon fiber strands in the vortex twist zone, integrating and compressing fiber strands on the suction member to form column fiber strands, outputting column fiber strands and twisting them into spun yarns. The spinning device comprises a drafting mechanism with suction members, wherein the front drafting pair consists of a front rubber roller, a block rubber roller, and a suction member, an air guide member is installed on the suction member, and the block. rubber roller, air guide member, and the suction member jointly form a vortex twist zone which fiber strands can pass through.

  • Patent number: 7662978
Abstract: The present invention relates to dibenzylidene sorbitol (“DBS”)-based compounds. The compounds of this invention are particularly advantageous in that they are characterized by one or more of improved transparency (reduced haze), reduced yellowing and/or improved organoleptics (taste). According to one embodiment, the present invention provides a disubstituted DBS-based compound having an allyl group or a propyl group substituted on the first carbon of the sorbitol chain. The present invention also relates to compositions comprising such DBS-based compounds and methods for using them.

  • Patent number: 7304170
Abstract: An inventive blue colorant comprising a chromophore having at least one hydroxy group-terminated polyester chain attached, through a suitable alkylamino linking group (or groups), to the 1-position, the 4-position, or both, of an anthraquinone backbone is provided. Such colorants exhibit excellent amine/base stability and thermal stability, effective colorations, excellent low extraction rates, and high lightfastness levels, particularly when incorporated within certain media and/or on the surface of certain polyurethane substrates. The polyester chain or chains can be conveniently tailored to increase the solubility or compatibility in different types of polyurethane resin precursors thereby permitting the introduction of such excellent coloring chromophores within diverse polyurethane media and/or or diverse polyurethane substrates as well as provides a liquid colorant which facilitates handling.

  • Patent number: 7262236
Abstract: An acetal-based composition useful as a nucleating, gelling, thickening or clarifying agent is disclosed. The composition may be synthesized or provided in many different forms, including multicarbon diacetals formed from carbohydrates. Once synthesized, the compound may be employed as an additive in a plastic composition, such as (for example) a polypropylene copolymer. One structure of such an acetal-based composition is provided by the formula: wherein: n is 0, 1 or 2; Ar1 and Ar2 are independently selected from substituted or unsubstituted aryl-containing groups; and R is selected from the group consisting of: alkenyls, alkyls, alkoxy, hydroxyl alkyls, and alkyl-halides.

The composition may be synthesized or provided in many different forms, including multicarbon diacetals formed from carbohydrates. Once synthesized, the compound may be employed as an additive in a plastic composition, such as (for example) a polypropylene copolymer. Co-additives may also be employed. Several aryl structures may reside upon the hydrocarbon chain backbone. One structure of such an acetal-based composition which happens to have two aryl-containing groups is shown: wherein: n is 0, 1 or 2; Ar1 and Ar2 are independently selected from substituted or unsubstituted aryl-containing groups; and R is selected from the group consisting of: alkenyls, alkyls, alkoxy, hydroxyl alkyls, and alkyl-halides.
