Abstract: A portable telephone apparatus of folding type, having a upper side housing 1 and a lower side housing 2, and the first one being rotatable to second one through a hinge 91, wherein an antenna containing device 213 is provided in parallel beside the lower side body 2, and an antenna 3 is inserted into the antenna containing device 213 in a direction, crossing at a right angle with a line extending in an axial line of the hinge 91, and the antenna 3 is held by the antenna containing device 213, thereby enabling to attach the antenna onto the lower side housing but without increase in the thickness thereof.
