  • Patent number: 4183161
Abstract: An indexing device for storing the information such as telephone numbers and addresses. When one of a plurality of push-buttons with index codes is pressed, some of the numerous cards internally housed are lifted and retained by the cover at the time the cover opens, to show a selected card. The cover has, internally on one side, a projection to engage one side of the card stack when the cover is closed and has on the other side, a card-grip to hold the cards lifted when the button is pressed. The projection supports one side of the cards when the cards are lifted, and it enlarges the lifting amount of the other side (the card-grip side) of the lifted cards.

  • Patent number: 4135319
Abstract: An indexing device is constructed such that a plurality of cards are filed in order between a base member of the device and a cover member pivotaly secured to the base member. The cards have protruding marginal edges such that, when the cards are filed in order in the device, the exposed portions of the respective marginal edges are in a sequential step-wise arrangement. A plurality of push-buttons are provided in the cover member in correspondence to the marginal edges of the respective cards such that one can select the desired card or page and open the cover member together with that card by a single push-button pressing operation.

  • Patent number: 4114301
Abstract: An indexing device consists of a base, a lid pivoted to the base, and a plurality of cards pivotally mounted between the lid and the base for selective movement with the lid. Each card has a lug at a front edge thereof, the plurality of cards being arranged such that the lugs are serially positioned at specific intervals in step-wise fashion. A like plurality of levers are pivoted to the base at corresponding specific intervals. A first end of each lever has a push-button fixed thereto for downward digital manipulation. The opposite end of each lever extends under the front edge of the cards for upward movement to select a desired number of cards to pivot upward with the opening of the lid.

  • Patent number: 3987565
Abstract: The present invention provides an index apparatus comprising a base, a cover, locking and unlocking means, indexing means, a coil spring, cards etc. When compared with conventional ones, the apparatus of the present invention has the following main features. The construction and the fitting to impart the opening capacity to the cover of an index apparatus are very simple. To mention more fully, the opening capacity can easily be given to the cover only by inserting the coil spring in the contracted state into the projections on the base without conventional fastening with iron core inserted into the coil spring. Unlike conventional ones, the index means of the index apparatus in the present invention is simple in its construction and easy to fit. The indexing means consists of two parts, the indexing member made of semi-hard synthetic resin and the slider made of elastic material, and is characterized by its easy fitting without any processing.
